went to the store today and lost my car...
my brain froze and I could not find it...
either my brain or my car.......they said it was ten-ish.

my feet are frozen too. do not like lyrica...
makes me sooooo drowsy.
hope I do not have to take it today.
WANT TO HAVE A GOOD DAY TOMORROW
and clean the cave. Did my windows and curtains last week.
Made stir fry today as I am low on ZOUPPPPPPPPPP.

Hi guys! Miss you lots.

Hanging by a thread. Go to work. Go to sleep. Go to work. Go to sleep. Feel like crap every day by the time I get home. Everyone's been sick for 3+ weeks now - I've been fighting, but haven't gotten sick. (knock on wood) Every 4-5 days I feel a tad bit worse and end up spending one weekend day just sleeping away and a few nights a week of going straight to bed. I don't know if it'll work and I'll maybe get this to pass w/o getting sick, or if there is something brewing waiting to explode full-force making me down for the count.

Sorry to moan after being gone since V50. nono I just wanted to say hello. It sounds like everyone's suffering the winter joint screams out there. Love to you all and wishing you better days.

Hi everyone,

It's been crazy in this neck of the woods.  My daughter turned 13 on Friday.  We had company all weekend. 

Saw a Pm doctor last week.  Get this, he can't help me.  He doesn't treat pain related to RA.  Basically just for back pain and he gives botox injections.  I have to say, I've never heard of this.  This RA is so crazy though.  Three days ago the pain on my shoulders elbows and arms was unbearable.  I thought i was having a heart attack.  Next day it was about 50% better.  My body is doing some weird things.

Anyway, I just keep going day by day and getting anxious for the warm weather.

My pain management experience was very painful...crying out loud


this was after physical therapy...the jock shop...came down with


a herniated disk in my neck had to get

a shot in the neck (the fun one)


and the male shot doc told me to get a new neck


kinda of freaked me out


after all the fun shot freaks you out to begin with...


the head of the whole mess ...another brillant male scientist


gave me another script for pain creme I TOLD HIM


I WAS ALLERGIC...eventually my skin went so bad it


looked like it was going to bleed out according to my pharmacist

I saw my orthopedic man in a different county


a couple of years later and he said my neck was ok...


oy vey ez mei....ei gevalt..something like that!  eyes eyes eyes

In honor of Bear and Momto3,  Happy Hump Day all,

On Erin!!  So glad to see your post, but so sorry you"ve not been well. Wishing there was something, ANYTHING any of us could do to help you...sending love and prayers your way...((((HUGS))))!!

Dazed and a bit confused myself here.  Went to the rhuemy on Monday,  CAT scan wasn't horrible...amazingly enough they did find evidence of a brain..heehee..(much to my family's surprise).  Actually, she said it showed all the signs of chronic sinusitis, which is what she suspected.  But, if we can't get the  sinuses cleared up with the new allergy meds and sprays, will need to see an allergist.  Will repeat the scan in about 3 months.  However, what has me a bit puzzled, is that she has decided not to re-start the mtx, and to wait at least a month for the enbrel.  Said that my joints didn't seem too bad to her, and that if I've been off of the other meds for this long and wasn't in worse pain, then, perhaps the plaquenil and Celebrex was enough for me. Guess less meds is better if possible, so we'll see what the next month brings.  She also said that the plaquenil may kick in a little more yet, since we're not at the six month mark yet.  Does anybody know, if I'm not taking mtx, do I still need the folic acid?  Forgot to ask them that. The whole appt was just sort of strange, she's always talked about early aggresssive treatment, now wants to hold off.  Oh well..

Rainy dreary day here in the Sunshine State, but we badly need the rain, so it's kind of nice.  Hope those of you in the north aren't stuck in by all those snowstorms!  State Fair is going on now...hope to go this weekend..love to go and eat all the fair food! Cotton candy and funnel cakes..what could be better?

bp- aka jody i dot htink you need to take the folic acid anymore unless you plan on having some babies of your own! mtx depletes it so you should be good to go without it.

joan- i hear ya on the neck thingy. heads shoulders knees and toes too! lol

erin welcome back and i hope you are well enough to type- we so miss your posts.

bear you should be knee deep in boxes by now rummaging through to find a clean pair of socks. i remember when we moved i packed all my clothes and moved them an forgot to save a clean outfit for the day of the closing. had to wear my hubbies clothes as he didnt pack everything- of course not- looked like a homeless person getting her first home! unable to afford clothing. lol ah the memories. and i am a trip full of goof ups trust me! actually i thnk that is what hubby likes best about me- just a goofball.

raven- crazy about the pm doc...... you would think RA being so painful he would treat it? are you going to see someone else???? me i cant take pain meds they all make me barf!

camama- whoohoo she is alive !!!! i am so sorry you are so overworked and over stressed. you need to come here (in the cold) and let me pamper you !!!!!! minty hot cocoas with a dash of spice! lol

Babyplace, I am only on plaquenil and sulindac (an NSAIS) and temporarily on prednisone. When I was first diagnosed I was on plaq for six months and it put me into remission that lasted for years. I know that is not a typical result but it can happen that plaq and an NSAID is enough. (the pred is only because when I went out of remission I was only on an NSAID and we had to give the plaq time to start working again before dcing the pred). Currently I am at the ten week mark on my new round of plaq and am still improving I actually don't think I have any swollen joints right now (although my rhuemy has an unhealthy facination with the third finger of my right hand)

Yally!  I can just picture you showing up for the closing in your hubby's clothes yeah    How funny!  Did you have to wear his shoes to complete the ensemble?

Good to hear from Erin.  Wish you felt better.  I peeked in yesterday but couldn't write cuz I was so busy at work.

Sounds like everyone and theirs has some kind of creeping crud.  I guess it's that time of year, huh?  Also good to know that our flu shots will not be as helpful as we thought.  Wrong strain or something.  So what else is new?

I also would like to send Valentine Day hugs to everyone.  Boo

Hi everybody - will post saturday after I have had my neuro consultation and get the results from my MRI blood and urne tests - trying to stay stoically coool cool about them but  we wait and see to find out what I have not got and by conjecture, what I may have.

I hear everyone's pain! sad   Today my co-worker said, "some days you're the pigeon, other days you are the statue...." Well, I was definitely the statue today. Ugh. The sudden positive then the even quicker negative change in weather, the fighting of the flus, pink eye, etc; topped by a crappy (can I say that word?) day at work, plus everything else - I am-a-wearin' down. Not good. Got a 3 day weekend coming up and I'm gonna rest rest rest (I hope!)

Happy Hearts Day all,

Thanks so much for the input sjkly, guess I would feel better about all of this if my feet, ankles and hands felt better.  Hoping I get a good bump from the plaq within the next month,cuz right now it ain't all that great, you know?  On the postitive side, at least I'm better than I was when I first diagnosed last April, so, glad that there's been improvement. Again, thanks for the encouragment.

Crazy day here, made some holiday crafts with the little ones (no, yally, no more babies of my own!! guess I'll skip the folic acid)  decorated cookies and cupcakes with them, now they're sleeping off the sugar high lol.   But, the oldest learned how to climb out of her bed today...yikes...so we had quite a game trying to get her to lay down and go to sleep.  I could cry, putting them to bed was my only guaranteed bit of quiet. :(   

Oh, I am kind of excited!!  One of the boys called this morning, and may give his girl a ring today if the deal at the jewelers goes well.  Yeah...maybe wedding bells..hubby and i are so ready for grandbabies!!

Sending all good thoughts your way, Bear..may you only hear good news from the doctor.... cool nobody cooler than you!

Just a matter of hours for you dear Ducky, there'll be dancin' in the streets yeah ...... and we're all celebrating with you.

Hi everybody,

I hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day.  Hubby and I had nice one this year, I bought him some cologne and he gave me pretty pair of diamond ear rings.  Not much to report but seem to be going downhill the joint pain and inflammation...lots of pain in the hands, knees and even in the feet.  Still waiting to begin the Enbrel that is in the fridge but my scratchy throat just won't go away!!!  Speaking of sore throats..I bought some Echinacea Tea because I love tea and I thought it would help get rid of this cold that I have..well I drank 3 cups last night before bed and it gave me horrid insomnia and I felt some kind of anxiety it was strange!  When I looked on the box today to make another cup it said not to use if you have RA, Lupus etc? Has anyone else ever used Echinacea?? It said it was caffiene free but I was awake all night!

Jody...I hope you can get by on just your plaquenil, that would be so wonderful!!!  I think the MTX and Enbrel are so harsh on our systems, I am really dreading adding another immnosupressant to my cocktail of meds.  So your son may propose to his g/f? You will have to update as soon as you find out! From your post she sounds like a nice girl?

I read that Ducky's hubby is coming home? That is such fabulous news!!

Yally wearing your husbands clothes? I will have to go back and reread when I have a bit more time!

My daughter is having a sleepover this weekend...two noisy cheerleaders..screaming, cheering and tumbling in my living room the entire weekend, once she arrives it is difficult to get her little friend to go home!! There will be no peace and quiet here!

Hey, it's the future monster-in-law here....lol!!  Forgot all about that movie until you mentioned it, Yally...I shall do my best!

Yes, they are engaged..,officially now.  They came over late Thursday night to show me the beautiful ring, formality I guess, since they bought a house together a year ago, and have been together for 4 years, but we are thrilled nonetheless. No date has been set, but hey, one step closer, right?

Hugs to you dear for your pain, I hate to hear that you are hurting. So glad you see the doc on Monday, will be praying the meds kick in really, really fast!

Busy day today, almost too busy..heading out to take the dogs to the dog park for a bit, then it's full speed for the rest of the day.  Lots to do to day, if I hold up that is.

Yally...I'm so sorry you hurt as much as you do and I understand where you are coming from!! There are many days where I just plain feel sorry for myself and ask WHY??? and when I was in the last time to learn how to practice for the Enbrel there was my "diagnosis" of 714.9 and unspecified poly inflammatory, and now everytime I think about that it just makes it that much worse!!!!  My own doctor doesn't even know what is wrong with me! It's okay we can feel sorry for ourselves together, how does that sound? I hurt so bad today, I am tempted to get one of those shots out of the fridge and use it!! I won't but it sounds good.  I have come to the conclusion that inflammation is just an ugly word! Please know that we are here for you.

Jody...I'm happy to hear your news! Maybe you will have your grandchild that you are hoping for sometime in the near future :) Is this the same son who just got the teaching job?

Ducky...I'm glad to hear your husband is now home safe and sound, and I know you are enjoying  your time with him, have a wonderful weekend!

As for the cheerleaders....I'm sure they could come up with a cheer but you would send them home in a hurry!

Oh Ducky!  I'm so happy he's home!  What a relief.  I know you are on Cloud 9 and we will excuse your being off the net. 

I had a great Valentine's Day.  Flowers, dinner, the whole bit.  Better late than never I guess. 

We have had sleet/rain all day.  It will freeze tonight and snow on top of it.  Had to work til noon today and the shop is so drafty and cold without the steam presses (we do not fire up the boiler on Saturday).  I was as stiff and achy as I've ever been.  Had to come home and get under the covers to thaw out.  Then had 1 year old birthday for our grandson.  I think I would have crawled through barb wire to get to that but I'm sure hurtin' tonight.  Ooooooh, this wet, cold weather does me in.  Decided to close the place on Monday.  Never done that before on Pres. Day.  But I've never been this old before. Ha!  Boo

moanin everyone, and i mean moanin......... i wonder if eating my valentines chocolate is playing havoc with me?????? i hurt so bad more than usual. i sure hope chocolate isnt an inflammatory trigger food? that would be criminal! hard to sleep at night and with hubby back on days i feel like i will wake him everytime i try to turn so i lay there stiff and quiet til i cant take it anymore. ok enough of this pity party i go to the rhuemmy today and i KNOW i will get meds. i fear i will say yes to prednisone i know i will get better fast on that but going off it sucks just as bad and i just got rid of my pred face it seems. well something has to give......

duck great seeing you happy in your posts i feel the hapiness radiating from your energy to reply.

In addition, the flavanols and procyanidins in chocolate improve the function and flow of blood vessels and help control inflammation.!!!!!!! yippie it aint my chocolate!

Sorry you are feeling bad Yally.. :( So glad it isn't your chocolate either.. how is the weather up there? It's rainy and yucky here, I know it doesn't make me feel very good..

I am cooking and fattening hubby up! Is so nice to be able to cook for him again! Woo-hoo!
