Moanin Everyone,
Thanks for letting me vent last week and for the kind replies. i guess my family Doctor has always been pretty disengaged. I'm not sure what the doctor situation is in the States but we have a major shortage over here in Ontario, many many without a PCP.
I shouldn't complain though, my Rheumy isn't bad. I never asked this before but do many of you guys still work. I think that if I felt well enough to go back it would help. I had an OT come over from the Arthritis Association of Canada a few weeks ago and when I asked her about any patients she had on disability she said not many were. Wondering what % are able to work. I am currently on LTD through my employer. I've got to wonder though, how long will they hold my position?
I've worked all my life and am only 41. I know that right now I could not work and still function. Any input?? I really don't find much of a change in my condition, if truth be told, and its been almost a year since DX. I take all my meds on time, but i still have a lot of inflammation in the fingers, wrists, elbows and shoulders. Now when I lift my arm I have a large pop, not just occasionally, but all the time. The pain is just as bad some days, but I think I am just building up a tolerance to the pain.
Anyway, my Rheumy's office called 2 weeks ago and I have to go for an MRI on my spine. I have to have this done in 2 phases. One is tomorrow at 7:45pm and the next is on Wednesday at 8:45pm. He didn't even tell me why he was doing this. I trieds to get a hold of the office again but no call back yet.
Sorry about the big ramble, I actually had a good weekend. My DTR had a basketball tourney near Toronto so we were gone all weekend. It almost kills me (the lack of sleep) but it is so worth it to get away.
Will post soon
