I speak to my Arthritis Specialist and i have for sure Osteoarthritis, he told me to get some knee braces for my knees and to do some cycling and water exercise and take pain meds too
now i feel depressed and Anger. is this normal?

hey there.. yes it's normal to feel all this things when you first get diagnosed.. but you will learn to adjust.. and once you get on the right meds, you will gradually feel better.. is a long road, but you can do it.. we will help you through it all..

why does it affect people with IBS? i am fine for now. my bowel has been hurting today

Some people with IBS can't take NSAIDs.. I know people with Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis, it is a big no-no.. but some IBS sufferers can't take it as well.. are you being followed by a gastro doc for your IBS? If so, I would give him a call and see what he has to say.. have you taken NSAIDs before?

Who is seeing/treating you for your IBS? Is it your Primary? Does your your rheumy know that you have IBS?

yes my rheumy knows i have IBS i give him all my conditions, my family doctor is the one taking care of my IBS

I would give my family doc a call if I were you, just to be on the safe side.. have you ever taken anything like Motrin or Aleve? Those are NSAIDs as well, and if you tolerated those ok, then you'll probably be ok.. but just to make sure, give your family doc a call and just let him know what your rheumy put you on, he may just want to monitor you a little closer to see how you do on it..

I used Motrin before and tolerated it ok, i will call me Doctor and get in to see him, actually he was the one that give me the pain killer and my rheumy told me that was good that i was on it

I am really anger with myself for getting this. does this get passed on by a parent?

Oh well, then you should be ok then.. I just wanted to make sure you didn't upset things in your belly anymore than they already were.. :) But if you've tolerated it well before, you'll probably be fine! NSAIDs are usually the first thing that they give you when you first get diagnosed with arthritis and especially OA.. NSAID, stands for Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug.. it helps to reduce the swelling brought on by the arthritis, therefore providing you some relief.. good luck to you, and let us know how you do on it.. :)

OA can be caused by lots of different things. Prior injuries, overuse, age, misalignment of joints, and lots of ohter things can contribute. You did not set out to give yourself OA so don't beat yourself up about it. I don't know if a tendency to get OA can be passed on but someone else will know and chime in.

Usually OA isn't genetic.. like Sj said it's more of an over-use type of thing.. RA can be genetic
