Anyone with Bechet's Disease

Have any of you been diagnoised with Bechet's Disease.  My new GI thinks that I have been misdiagnoised with Crohn's Disease but actually have Bechet's Disease.

I am SO FRUSTRATED!!!!!!!! A new diagnosis????? 

That's a good question. I asked him the same, he said it's because my colonoscopy showed "chronic inflammatory bowel disease unclassifiable to either Crohn's or UC." However, my old GI had 35 yrs experience and his feeling was that I had ALL the symptoms of Crohn's and sometimes you can't fit a square peg into a round hole. If it waks like a duck and talks like a duck, it must be a duck. These GI's are at a major teaching hospital.

Actually, I have been doing pretty good. My complaint has been terrible hip and lower back pain. I don't understand why he wants to change my dx either. My PCP said some docs just like to "see the evidence" for themselves and he is going to call him to "chat" about why he is questioning the dx. However, he certainly didn't change my meds, and if I don't have Crohn's or IBD for that matter why the heck am I on Remicaide??????

Yes, the arthritis thing is really just hip and back and occasionally my knee. The interesting thing about that is my knee is the only joint I have swelling in. Although, I guess it would be hard to see visual swelling in your hip and back! Thank you for replying. I see you have scoliosis, how were you diagnoised???????

I was DX with colitist for 10 yrs. before I was DX with Behcet's. I also had sever headaches.  What a relief that was!  At that time, I did not have arthritist.  And, my arthritist has moved around from my hands and feet to my lower back and hips.  My colitist symptoms have subsided.  The doctor who is saying "Behcet's" is probably right.  But your Crohn's still has to be treated.  In fact, any of the symptoms of Behcet's has to be dealt with individually.  If you have the mouth or genital sores chances are it is Behcet's.
