pain in joints most of the time

 I would like some tips on what I can take to help with arthritis pain. I have had stomach bleeding from to many Advil's. I can take one now and I bend over double in an hour and my stomach will bother me for 2 days after. Aleve and the others do the same for me. The do wonders for the pain but I cannot take a chance on bleeding. I am almost 62 and otherwise in good shape. I walk 2 miles per day. I weigh the same as I did in high school(5ft-11-170) My Doctor has me now maximum daily dose of ULTRAM® ER 300 mg, wow the cost is unreal. It worked to begin with but not much help in the last few weeks. I can ride in a car for 15 miles and I have a hard time getting out of the car. I get up in the morning and have a hard time moving until I walk some. I know age is something I cannot help but I do not like living like this. Bextra did wonders for me. It made me feel like living again and then it was removed from the market. I have tried working out with weights but the pain is to bad most days for that. I have also tried the things like Glucosamine, did nothing for me. I stayed on it for 4 months. Total waste of money. I am willing to try anything new. Thanks

I understand the problem with over the counter NSAIDs as that is what can happen to me (I start vomiting like crazy from them). Has your doctor tried you on any of the prescription NSAIDs? You generally take less of them because of how strong they are and they can react differently on your system. Right now I can tolerate Nambumetone in small doses. There's many other NSAIDs that your doctor could suggest also. I also take percocet which yes, is a narcotic but it gives me some relief and it allows me to be functional without horrible side effects like so many of the drugs do for me. I also take fish oil capsules as they're supposed to help with inflammation. Don't know if they do but I'm willing to give it a try.
