cry   cry cry Does anyone on this forum suffer from gout. I have every other form of arthritis and just deal with it as best as I can. I have a brother who has terrible kidney problem, he also suffers a great deal from gout and asked me to ask on his part if any one know of anything that can be of help. HE HAS TRIED JUST about EVERY THyING AND NOTHING SEEMS TO HELP. i HAVE BEEN READING about A NEW DRUG JUST APPROVED IN NOVEMBER, BUT CANT SEEM TO FIND OUT WHERE IT IS BEING DISTRIBUTEDLcan SOMEONE help pleas post. He is really miserable. Te does not qualify for a kidney transplant because he has had a heartattaack , even though he has a donor becaus he is an identical twin. thank you .    turn june

My Dad used to get gout in his big toe and it was horribly painful.I know he was on some meds but have heard since that people with heart problems shouldn't take them.   I remember his foot doctor telling him to try cherry juice from the healthfood store.  Could be worth a try.

I sympathize wirh your brother. I have been recently diagnosed with gout after being treated 20+ years for osteoarthritis. I have an appointment with a rheumatologist next week and am very optimistic about getting relief from this crippling condition. I will keep you posted on my results.

My husband suffers from gout and has kidney problems as well as an underactive thyroid... He was as his wits end as gout meds weren't working. Our local Dr. thought to test his hair for lead levels (Didn't show up in blood as not recent) and he had a really high lead level. After this was chelated out of his body he then responded to the gout medication! It might be worth doing a hair analysis test to check the lead levels, his kidneys have really improved as well! Rennovating old houses seems to be the culprit in my husbands case, its worth a try.

Thank you all so much for your responses, My brother is 62 and has had kidney problems since he was 14 years old . He says a gout attack is really bad. The new medication that was approved is called Uloric. I have not yet found out if it is being used by anyone yet. Yes he did try the cherrie juice didn't seem to make a differencel The research I did on it said you would have to take the equivelant of 6 pounds of cherries a dayl I love cherries (((BUT))) thanks all.
While here . Has anyone had a Reclast infusion for arthritis. Has it helped. I have only had one ,so I don't know what long term results may be. june
