It's really quiet here on the RA forum sad

I hope this is because everyone is doing well.

I know it is winter in the Northern hemisphere and that can be brutal on arthritis, so I hope you NH people are surviving the cold.

It's summer here in the Southern hemisphere - and extremely hot already smhair .

If you read this - post and let us know how you are surviving the weather and the Holiday season.

Hi Sydney Jo, I have just joined the forum, and live in the UK, London to be precise. Its just started getting cold, around 46 f, and we have had some snow the past two days. The cold does affect the joints, feet especially are very painful, and feeling more tired. Must be lovely to have Christmas in the sun!!!

Just to let you know, I have RA and waiting diagnosis on lupus/mixed connective tissue disease. Currently on methotrexate 15mg, tramadol 100mg and paracetemol. I am married to Roy, have 4 kids, youngest is 16yr girl.

Hi Mariette,

I answered on your other post too, but didnt mention your Lupus/connective tissue disease - sheesh you poor thing - I hope the tests done come back negative for both. It stinks that once you have one auto-immune disease you are susceptible to others.

I started out with Crohn's Disease and then the RA - UGH - one is enough.

Wow - snow - I will swap you this heat anyday tongue

You have four kids too - we both must be crazy turn although like me, you probably wouldnt want it any other way.

Hope you keep us updated on your pending diagnosis.

Hey Jo! I am here. The good news is got all my shopping done except for 3 items. Have not been able to get out much up here because of the weather, but I've gotten alot of shopping done so I'm happy.

The bad news is, its gonna be 33 here today with the wind chill making it 28. Oh and we are expecting 8-12 inches of snow....can you say PAIN!!!? lol Yes the north stinks, but my daughter loves the snow and the pain is worth seeing the look on her face when she throws snowballs at my husbands head haa haa.

I hope you are doing well and painfree or as much as you can be.

Hey Niki,

I have finished the present buying, just need to do the fresh food shopping and will probably head out early Xmas Eve for that -well thats the plan, hopefully the body goes along with the plan smile

I have only ever seen snow once and I wasnt able to ski due to RA, so became an expert snowball thrower smilewinkgrin - I was propped in the one spot all day at the ski fields aiming snowballs at my family most of the day - horrible mother tongue

I hope the coming snowfall doesnt make your RA more painful.

Good luck with the last of your gift buying.
