Hang in there girl, ....As for the patches I was on 10mg only as my rheumy said that anything higher and I would be a zoombie in a chair... Make sure you take them the first time when your not going anywhere and someones at home, to be on the safe side.  They may work for you, they didn't for me unfortunately.  It's getting very exciting at your place, I can hear it in you post. I bet you can't wait to get in there, all shiny and new?  We have now got all quotes in and I put the final figure in front of Paul with a stiff drink. lol.  We've booked a 4 day romantic break on Hamilton Island at the end of February after our visit to see the specialist for the results of the 'get together'.  We plan to start the renovations and pool installation in March depending on results and if I have to have surgery? Fingers crossed I don't.

Jo, brave or stupid? Stupid I think as I was completely shattered and exhausted on arriving home, the heat, the pain in my foot, back etc. Don't get me wrong we had a wonderful day with the boys and other halves but my days of walking around 'anywhere' are numbered at the moment.  We got a water taxi from the Opera House to Darling Harbour only to discover that they had to drop us at Kings Wharf and couldn't take us into the main area (which was where our restuarant was!!) so I had to walk in that heat.  GP was confusing and not as helpful as he usually is, wouldn't do the 'indifinite referral' as requested, only a yearly one and kept going on about having 'stem cell' treatment through a doctor friend of his, all very weird...

Blood tests on Monday fingers crossed liver is better?

Let us know how you went with your 'showdown', hopefully not too stressful as that's the last thing you need.

Hi Everyone

Had my Humira shot yesterday which gave me the headahe from hell in the afternoon/night   Woke up this morning without it  cant figure this headache/neuralgia thing out - just want it to go already!

My showdown with Gastro was a fizzle - it was as if she was pre-warned that I was going to make a fuss and answered all my questions appropriately and with the correspondence to prove it. My main concern with her is that she wont get my Humira paperwork to Medicare on time and they will cut me off, hopefully I have resolved this issue with her now. I cant afford a new Gastro as she bulk bills me because I see her so often, so Im glad that she is on the ball with this.

Im dealing with another problem at the moment, my left breast is swollen under my armpit and down the inner side of my breast. I have put on 4kg (much needed) and just thought my breasts were getting bigger with the additional weight, but when this one kept getting bigger I got concerned. Saw my GP this morning and she is sending me for an ultrasound and mammogram, but I cant get in till the 24th February  Now I have to play the waiting game. Im hoping that its the meds or dropping the pred or the added work I have been doing - lifting/pushing. Im trying not to be anxious but the constant feel of it under my arm is a reminder.

Anyway enough about me.

Mags - I would be interested to hear about the stem cells - imagine not having to poison our bodies with all the foreign substances we take. I am waiting for that day when something like this comes along and gets us off all these hideous meds. Keep up your fluids with this cold you have too

Jax - Good luck with your pain patches and dont overdo things with your new home. You must be nearly back to work soon too, take it easy there too.

Actually felt half way decent when I woke up this morning. I think I am going to try getting up early enough to do my yoga in the mornings. See if that helps me get moving in the mornings. Doubt if it will happen though. I usually get up in time to shower, help the wife get the kids ready and run out the door.

Sydney- lol I have been married for 16 yrs that breast talk is nothing.

Peggy- Its not that I mind if they watch I just keep bustin my ass and they laugh at me enough as it is. On my bad days when I am walking on a cane my boys introduce me as their grandpa. I am just glad they can joke around about it though. It makes it alot easier and usually makes me laugh too.

Jax, sounds like your in a rough patch at the moment, strange how we go through the ups and downs, thank god we can come on here and rant and rave, moan and groan to each other. 4 hours sleep sounds like a dream, I'm still up and down in the night, still feel flu like symptons in the night (but not the day) strange

I'm with you with regards concern for Jo, I've had a time where I was in so much pain in my left breast I couldn't take my bra off at all (even showered in it). Had a scan, X-rays and ended up seeing specialist, thankfully not a major problem, but still a difficult time and so painful for a about 6weeks.

Simponi - could you refresh my memory or have we not talked about that, sounds interesting and obviously something you think I should know about. My remicade didn't work this time, very disappointed but have to wait and see if it's because I'm not on Mxth?  Can't wait for the appointment to see my specialist for some update, like you so over the whole thing, but trying hard to focus on other things to take my mind off it.

By the way just under 3kg lost in two weeks, so that's something to be happy about

Just booked a 4 night romantic break on Hamilton Island to get away for some relaxation and quite time with hubby after my appointment with specialist and before the renovations/operation starts.

I like you didn't want the walking stick, the car sticker etc, I've had my head buried in the sand so far down on all those subjects BUT I have changed my mind on all that, my husband and boys made me see the light in the end as you know.

Why suffer when we can have things to help improve our life physically as well as mentally.  You know from previoius posts that I thought that I would be less attractive to my husband with one and went to a very dark place and tried to push him away, maybe subconsiously thinking he should find someone else who was 'whole' and not broken. All so wrong, when in fact it's made life so much better, I get around a little more than I did before as it  takes the pressure of the foot and back, and that in its self makes me feel better mentally. My husband loves me regardless with or without the stick and in fact people are very kind when you have one...I have been offered seats when others have to stand, people always say 'after you'.   My son said being with me makes even his life easier...  As for the sticker in the car, I was given a tempory one for 6 months and felt dreadful when I got it, but it helps lots, I felt even worse when I was issued by my rheumy a form for a permanent one, saying things aren't going to get better so I should have one.....I think it's wonderful, so now I still drive my MX5 with sticker, and get out using a walking cane.....if anyone has a problem with that they can approach me anytime. Do you know what I was tellling a friend that 'if' I end up in a wheelchair you bet I'll have the best, blinging, kick arse chair there is to have and I'll wiz round in it, but that's only 'if'.

So please don't worry, get that sticker as a start and see how you feel about the stick later, only $27 in the store and it folds into your handbag for just in case you need it.   Here endith the lesson.

Well I was going to say lots more but I've been called away to Bunnings with hubby for a ride. So will continue later.

Asked my GP about the disability parking scheme and she partly filled in the form, now I have it home I realise she has missed a section! I will have to go back and try again, She has however upped the fentenyl patch to 37.5mg, so I will see how I go on that.

Jo it must be soo hard not to be focussed entirely on your breast or the gland. You are doing remarkably well to joke about it. I'm worrying and I'm not even you! 24th seems soo long to wait. I really hope you manage to destress, treat yourself to a massage or a spa and try to chill out. Hope you're ok. Theres always something with us lot isn't there. As if we don't have enough wrong with our lives.

Mags how are you going with the Tai Chi? When are you off to Hamilton Island, it sounds very relaxing.

I'm back to work at my TAFE job next week, looking forward to the money! Its been a long holiday with so much money going out. My hubby starts his new contract mid Feb so we will be ok again soon. Stop the tidal flow of money out the door anyway.
