maybe a strange question? tattoos

Hi there, Ive recently been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and am currently taking hydroxyquine and sulphasalazine. I was also prescribed methotrexate but I decided to wait on that one for a few weeks until i can get a definite test for lyme disease. I was super scared to start taking these drugs...right down to the minute i swallowed them..i think i expected to keel over or something! but admittedly i find myself excited at the possibility of being able to function again. ANYhow...the weird question I have is would you or have any of you got a tattoo while on these drugs? I know you can be more prone to infection, and i had been planning on getting one in the next few weeks but if its not a good idea then i guess i would cancel, any comments would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

What a great question. I too want a tattoo in the worst way.  But since I am in pain most of my time, I dont know if I would be able to handle it...I am such a wimp when it comes to needles.....was also wondering if the "placement area" chosen would affect the joint(s) nearest it....

I think I would go with my shoulder or on my ankle...but dont want to make the joints closest ache even more....

personally- I prefer focusing on my personality and Id like to think it is all my qualities as a person that makes me unique and sets me apart, not what tattoos i choose to wear on my body.

TayIsa- Incidentally, I have a tattoo on my left foot, which is minimally affected by My arthritis. Whereas my right foot which has no tattoo is severely affected 100% of the time and constantly swollen/painful to where i can barely walk on it. So in my opinion i dont think ink has any affect on the severity of joint pain! unless it actually helps? lol id say just make sure the ink used, tattooist and establishment is top quality.
