Ladywriter- we are talking about
pain meds but we are not getting relief from them either. Other than I said Fiorinal relieves a migraine for me.
Nothing touches RA pain for me either and now I have built up such a tolerance for pain it takes a hell of a lot for me to call it pain. This has put me in a position where I have no tolerance for people telling me they are in pain because what they are complaining about
seems so minor to me. I have become ugly in that department. I too get a great result if I use 15 mgs of prednisone. I feel 100% however I also get fat and grow facial hair. Plus 15 mgs is not a safe daily dose. I have weaned off prednisone completely and suffere in somewhat silence.
Jay- doctors can be SO difficult! During my onset when my pain was off the flipping charts 12 hrs every day I wished she would have prescribed a handgun instead of the pain meds she was refusing me too! Only thing is I was so weak and my hands were so useless I wouldn't have had the ability to use it! It was all I could do to lift a pill to my lips and then the paper cup to drink it down. Most times my husband had to do it. Now how can a doctor refuse a patient in that condition? I can honetly say the only thing that helped at that time was I went to the ER once and they gave me a shot in the butt of something- i think it was called torodol but I really don't know if they told me what it was. Someone I told this to might have suggested that it might have been. Anyway what a relief it was at the time.
