methyl prednisolone infusion

hi i am having a steroid infusion of prednislone and just wondering if anyone else has had this?
what are the side effects and how it affected you during the infusion and how long it took to go in and how long it gave you relieve for?

as my meds aren't working my rheumy wants to put me on a new med cocktail, not sure what it will be but until then she wants to help with the infusion.

Hi Dee, don't be worried they are just fantastic, the last flare I had I could barely walk or stand up straight and after 3 infusions I felt I could run and jump out of the place!!!

Side effects are you can't sleep, it makes you feel wide awake in the middle of the night plus I got oral thrush while I was on it.

I think that was it. I mean massive doses of prednisone are long term going to deplete the calcium in your system, so eat lots of dairy products.

But it was fantastic, made me feel brilliant. Lasted  awhile, I'm sure it was 4 or 5 weeks maybe longer, but totally got me over the flare. I was much better afterwards.

Good luck, I hope it goes well, drnk lots of water to help your system cope. I remember the nurse telling me to do that.
