Hi all!
I have a question . My Rhuemy did a test called ACE. Angiotensin-converting enzyme. It came back elevated . Did anyone else have this test? What does it mean?
Thanks

ACE is an enzyme in your body that produces angiotensin II, a substance in your body that affects your cardiovascular system by narrowing your blood vessels and releasing hormones that can raise your blood pressure. This narrowing can cause high blood pressure and force your heart to work harder.
Most people who have a high ACE level go on blood pressure medication called ACE inhibitors.
