Hi Weary and Golitho...thank you! It is just frustrating. He simply didn't seem concerned and I have never heard of having that much swelling/fluid or any fluid for that matter being normal. It was just absurd! When he asked me if I thought she had RA...I simply told him that I see my symptoms in her, that was all. No, no she is hardly a drama queen:) in fact, the last time she had strep throat, she told her throat hurt a *bit* and for a few days told us this, and when I looked in her throat, I was shocked! We took her in to the urgent care, and she had a raging case of strep throat! So her tolerance for pain is pretty high, and she has always been this way. So for her to say she has knee pain, it must hurt!
I do worry because even with my meds, I have gone down hill...although I remember pre-treatment I couldn't even ride in a car without being in pain, it seems now the pain just seems to be dull and constant, with flares all of the time. I don't want this for my daughter.
He had absolutely no answers...none. He told me to give her aleve. He seemed more concerned with the fact that she has hypercalcuria and was prone to kidney stones, we spent quite a bit of time going over that history for whatever reason.
It was the fact that her pain waxes and wanes, that she can go for several days without pain, that he deemed her fine and healthy. When I was diagnosed, I started with knee pain and was never pain free again....but it is different in everyone.
I will start her on fish oil and even the Aleve, because when I first started out, I went through all of the NSAIDS, before I was ever put on the toxic stuff. I will exhaust all of those options and even ask for a script of an NSAID such as Mobic if needed. We will get to the bottom of this!
Thanks for listening everyone!
