Anybody have major reaction to Humira?

Hi, I will be starting Humira in a couple of weeks, I was wondering has anyone ever had any major reaction to Humira? I seen a similar post from the pass, but it's been a few years ago, just wondering if anyone has any recent experience with Humira.

I am actually very sinsitive to medication, i had a major reaction when I was on remicade, I had a respiratory reaction, I was almost unable to breath, so I'm a bit scare of new meds. Since it's a self injectable, it actually scares me more, because if I'm at the infusion center, they know what to do if a reaction arise.

Hi i guess it depends on You , i also had reactions to most things Plaquinil put me in Hospital,Arava Worked Really Good till my Liver went crazy,Can't take Any Anti inflamitories etc,etc

With the Humira i Felt LOUSY Tired HeadAch then Nose Bleeds i mentioned this and the Dr said give it time -- then i got Large Granular Lymphosytes Which genurally cause LGL Leukemia so Then they said Oh Stop Taking it   nono

so now i am still working thru this and feel Very Tired ,as soon as i stopped the Humira the headachs,nosebleeds and general "hit by Truck" Feel Went away. NOW in saying this i Have Heard People Sware by Humira and it has Worked for them and if given the chance i would use it again cos you have to try these things don't you, But Just SHOUT Tell them if you have a Problem make them Listen. Get Regular Blood tests cos it was the fact i had 2 weekly tests we picked it up.

no one can or should push you either way but i'd say you never know it could work,just be aware be incontrol and don't stress it either will go well or it wont, and i Never had a Sudden Reaction so i wouldn't worry about the home injecting bit just follow instructions Good Luck

Thanks badday. Looks like you had it worst than me, i hope things go well for you. I will start Humira in a couple of weeks, but i just had minor surgery and lung infection now so i need to get it taking care of before i start on Humira which will lower my ability to fight virus. i guess i just have to wait and see Humira will work or not.

by the way, anyone take celebrex that made them sweat? i been having this issue the last few day.

Hello!

I have been injecting Humira for six months now.  I, too, was worried because I have a lot of drug allergies.  I have had absolutely no bad side effects from Humira. i don't even get an injection site reaction. It took a while to start helping, but my CRP has gone from 7 to 3.5 and my fatigue is not nearly as bad as it used to be.  I hope it works for you, too.  It does sting really bad.  It helps if you leave the injection pen out for a while so that it isn't so cold.

I take 400 mg of Celebrex a day.  I do have a sweating issue but it started way before the Celebrex script.  I think I may have Sjogrens.  I am going to discuss this with my RD at my next appointment.  You might want to ask your doc also...???

Hi Hint with the Stinging ICE Before you inject i was doing it After and yes it Really Stung then Rhumy said Put the ice Pack on Before so you get site good and cold and Yes also make sure it is Room Temp so get out of fridge well before you are to use it. Good Luck & Don't Worry

I let mine sit out 30 min before i inject. Only side effect i get is the rash around the injection area.showed pics to doc and he said continue he had me get a epi pen for the home just case he said i been on it bout a yr n a half now

Thank you for your suggestion, I will keep that in mind, but now I have to hold it off for a little while. Took a chest X-ray and show a spot in my lung. I have to see a lung doctor first before using humira

Humira was a miracle for me for several years till it stopped working.  I've had reactions on other meds but none with the Humira.  Hope it works well for you

Thanks, I hope it will work too, because I really needed something to get going. Remicade work for me for a few years and it lost it's effectiveness and gave me a reaction. Orencia did not work for me at all, so will see how well Humira works. But first I will have to see the lung specialist first because my chest x-ray shown a spot.

I recently had to have a lung biopsy because the cat scan showed nodules in my lungs and lymph nodes. They ruled out cancer, sarcoid and fungal infection.  My rheumy said it's the arthritis causing the nodules.  Guess they can grow in andy organ - pretty scary.  I'm just hoping they grow really slow or not at all.   sooner or later either the disease or these darned meds will do me in.  Oh well, one day at a time.

my rheumy gave me the first few injections of the humira in her office and then I started doing it at home.   I didn't mind the epi pen at all.  With the cimzia its  a needle and I have a harder time making myself stick it in, plus it's a slower release.   Practice makes perfect and the little sting from it isn't anything compared to a flare
