Remicade users..HELP?

My remicade has stopped working! Had infusion April 1st and on day 7 had a 6 day flare up and still aching now. Got sick on the 13th with head cold that turned into bronchitis that I have now. Before Aprils infusion last one only lasted 4 weeks. get 250 mg every 5 weeks. RA doctor wants to see me Tues and said we may have to something else confused Is anyone taking a higher dose? Do you think that's all I need?

Don't get discouraged yet, if this medication is not working then another medication might be more helpful for you. There are many medications out there....or methotrexate might be added..but for now get a list of questions ready for your doctors visit.

Others will come by with better advise just be a little patient as its a weekend...

I started remicade (every two months) about a year ago and had fairly good relief of symptoms until October. My doctor increased the dosage a couple of times after that (the maximum depends on your weight). 1 week after the February infusion I had immediate flare of symptoms in almost all joints and arm/leg muscles - In a.m., could barely rise to a standing position. My rheumatologist said she had never had a patient with that reaction and advised we could try something else after two months. I am now on Arava and prednisone and waiting for her decision on what to do next. I started looking around the internet for any people with my experience and found this site. Also, I saw mention of a possible delayed allergic reaction of joint pain the Remicade brochure but it doesn't say whether after the first infusion or later down the road. In any case, my opinion is that it simply stopped working overnight. My symptoms did not change from February 23 until April 15 when I started the prednisone and Arava. It doesn't seem to me and "allergic reaction" would last that long. I hope you find relief soon!

Can they increase the dose ? Or maybe try another drug like suggested above ( too lazy to spell) I took ( it)along with remicade every six weeks and it helped a little it's just I get GI problems with it. "Don't get discouraged" to quote my rheumy I saw yesterday. They will keep trying until something works. Stay warm. Stay calm. You will get through it.

shocked Well May 6th RA doc started me on Humera pen!!! No skin infection this time but still feel aches,will wait and see.Have to do pen twice a month on 40 mg. Sorry was waiting to get back to all you as soon as I knew,hope this works. Been under stress my big shep. tore his Alc in his knee and just came home after surgery . He is about 75 lbs of dog and can not walk so husband has to carry him to go potty cry poor baby . he is on pain pills and whole leg is wraped and he crys. I'm crying over the bill over $2,000
!! :smha3 months or more for him to recover.
