I have ulcerative colitis and started Humira. I was on it for 3 rounds and I immediately started having swelling in my extremities. My GI dr. stopped the Humira because the swelling and then the pain started. I have been off the Humira for almost 3 weeks now and I am in severe pain all over, especially in my joints. My GI dr. referred me to a Rheumatologist and I am waiting for the appt. My GI Dr. said the Humira would not cause this kind of pain. It is debilitating, I cannot hardly get in and out of bed. Severe pain. Does anyone have any advice on if this is from Humira or do I possibly have RA? The pain was sudden and I have to go back to work on Monday after Spring break and I don't know how I am going to even go to work, it hurts that much. Does RA just hit you like that? All suddenly? It hurts so much!

Check this publication out....page 24 starts the side effects list.

Yes, like I said, I took the Humira and I have all of the side effects, but no disrespect, but that doesn't answer my questions. My questions aren't so much about
Humira, but about
RA. Thanks though

It could be RA or something else. I've heard of some biologics causing drug induced lupus too.
Has your doctor ran any tests for lupus or RA?
