my fingers are curving and my toes

I have same problem with both hands and feet and gave up doing a lot of things years ago I did at one stage see an OT (occupational therapist) and she made a mold of my hand and it was set like a cast I could put this on at night or when resting and it held my hands/fingers in a resting position, this helped the curving for some time (but it has broken long ago and I never got to replace it).
it is bad when you bump your fingers I- like you tried to tuck the sheet in but hit my hand on mattress and ended up a crying heap on the floor as the pain seared thru my fingers - so like you sheets now hang.
try to get into an OT or even a physiotherapist they can help or direct you to someone that can help

I've had severe RA since I was 24, so I guess my Rheumy didn't want to scare or depress me.
I didn't have a computer back then but he sure got talking once I got a computer and I was
telling him all I was finding out about RA on it.

Alice is right, no one knows for sure. Depends how long we have RA, what type and how well
we do on the medications and so on. She has some good ideas though. I have trouble picking
up little things like testing strips for my D meter. I just lick my finger and press it hard against
the strip so it sticks to it and that picks it up.

That is sad that your mold/cast was broken BadDay. That was a good idea about your OT making
it for you though.

It looks like our lives didn't turn out anywhere near as well as we had hoped,
as young adults. More like a horror movie. :(

Although I was in so much pain through the years between remissions, I didn't
acquire much disfigurement(except for small knuckle nodules) until about 6 years
ago. The Imuran quit working, a few months after my younger Brother died. Four
years after that, RA had just kept attacking me like a Bully on a rampage. Except
for the times I used higher doses of Pred. I've been on low dose Pred for about
10 years since the other meds were failures.

My right hand has slightly curved eastwardly(forgot the name). I can't flatten my
index finger of my left hand or any of my fingers of my right hand, on the table.
My feet have lost the fatty tissue and my middle toe on my left foot is sleeping on
the one next to it. Plus the RA Neuropathy in a couple of toes is annoying. Needless
to say that it hurts much to walk without shoes. I just got a pair of orthotics which
help so very much to walk again.

All in all, I did pretty good. I feel really bad for the kids with Juvenial RA like my cousin.
Not to be able to run and jump and play with the other kids. I can't even imagine. :(
