yikes, i hate spasms. the ones i get are from AS and they are brutal. it's an awful lower back spasm that feels like it wraps around your waist and it's crushing & keeps ya from breathing sometimes. the only thing that breaks it is diazepam. the TNFs have helped ease them and lessenned the frequency as well.
spasms in the hands and feet also could be localized seizures...i get those in my legs.
also calcium and potassium deficiencies or abnormalities could cause spasms.
i had also what was called tetany, constant muscle spasms in the legs...and the neurologist had me on a high calcium diet, it worked! i couldn't believe it....was very skeptical.
make sure to mention it to the doc.
the best to you!
