   I called Dr this morning cuz I was in horrid agony. That pinched nerve in my neck is giving me the works. Anyway, I asked Dr if I could try Gabapentin.

So my friend Deb picks it up and brings it over to me and I take one. These are 300mg to be taken 3 times a day. I started feeling it in about an hour. This stuff is kinda freaky, but I think it's going to work. The best way I can explain it, is that it makes the pain go from jumping up and down on you to sitting in the back seat. It's still there, but it's like there's some kind of freaky force field up blocking the full effect. I know this sounds crazy and it would actually probably scare me if I was uninformed about meds. But let me tell you what...I went from curled up in a fetal position with a pillow over my head this morning to having done 5 loads of laundry tonight. My boys are ecstatic tonight that I was actually human instead of a moaning lump. If this stuff actually works out for me, it will improve my quality of life A LOT. The oxy and lortab make the pain bearable, but today the gabapentin helped me be able to DO things. I am looking forward to a decent sleep tonight. Keep your fingers crossed! :-)

Woo-hoo! Good for you.. I have never heard of that before... hhmmm... I'm so happy you've found something that works for you! How did you sleep?

My PCP put me on Gabapentin for cluster headaches. I'm ignoring the fact that it took 35 years to be diagnosed correctly. All the docs up to now immediately dismissed the idea that a female could have cluster headaches. Okay, I guess I'm not completely ignoring that!

The Gabapentin (Neurontin) has been working really well. Really, really well. I highly recommend it to anyone who has migraines that last for days or weeks. (Cluster headaches are also known as histamine headaches - as in allergies, weather changes where the barometric pressure drops, etc.)

I slept like a rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I slept so long and so hard that it gave me a headache, lol. I just popped another one and am having my coffee. I bet the headache goes in a bit.
squarepeg, I do get headaches too, but it's from my neck problems I think. I also have a chronic sinus infection. My Dr had me see a EENT but he said he can't do the surgery cuz of the position they have to have my neck to do the surgery on my sinuses would mess up the pinched nerve in my neck. How cruddy is that? My Dr asked if I wanted to see a different EENT but I said no, I'll just live with it and take my Flonase. EENT wanted me on more antibiotics but I said no thanks. My gutts are still tore up from the Levoquin they had me on a couple weeks ago. I said if you can give it to me in a shot, go for it, but no more pills. He was kind of a dick so I doubt I see him again, lol. Bless my poor regular Dr, he puts up with my quirks like a champ. If you want to know about him google Subash Sahai. I'm on this and I take three 300mg aday and my Theraphist script it for me I wanted off of the Valuims because I felt they were not doing any me any good.I must say it has helped my depression some.
