Hi all! Things are moving right along! I see my doc again on Thursday, the 4th, and will probably be starting outpatient PT after that. That freaks me out a little bit! I've had so many surgeries (6) on this knee and have had good and not-so-good PT. So, I'm hoping for the "really good" PT for this time!! I just hate the bicycle! I can handle everything except the bicycle! I think that is truly the devil's element of torture! I'm still using my walker. I really want to "graduate" to a cane but I'm just not strong enough yet. I did have my Remicade infusion yesterday so that should help my other joints. Hopefully, I can move away from the walker soon! I know this probably sounds stupid but, people really look at you strangely. Today when my Mom and I were out, people would stop and move away from me....like there was some big thing wrong with me just because I was using a walker. I don't know...it really makes you stop and think......
Anyway, Kate, Hang in there! Patience, sitting still, and daytime television are all issues with me as well. I am still on medical leave and everyone goes back to school/work next week. I'm supposed to be doing that but I still have a couple of weeks or so before I can go back to work. I know physically I'm not ready to go back but my mind thinks I am! Also, my Mom leaves to go home tomorrow. She's been here since I went into the hospital.
Nicole, I had general anesthesia with a nerve block on my leg so the first two days after surgery I couldn't feel my leg at all! I had a different doctor but had surgery at the same hospital where I had my first TKR. They said they've been experimenting with pain relief and what is best. I had an epidural the first time. Keep me posted on your upcoming surgery.
Yalinda, as always thanks for your caring thoughts!
I hope you all have a Happy, Happy New Year!!!! And thanks again for everything!
