My husband has been having pain and stiffness in his hands (mostly at the base of the index finger and thumb) and somewhat in his feet for about 4 weeks now. Its been hell. He has been depressed and anxious fearing RA. His primary doctor did some inflammtion tests and they were all negative (esr, wbc, rf). The pain persisted so we went to a rhematologist (one week ago). He examined him and said there is no way it is any form of arthritis. This was a relief BUT the pain keeps getting worse.
There is no apparent swelling, but the pain is bad, its symmetrical, and he also has flu symptoms (tho no fever). He has some night sweats and chills. We are trying to take it day by day, taking nsaids, eating healthy, ice packs, glucosamine, fish oils etc... but the pain is getting worse daily.
Can anyone give any advice, share any similar stories good or bad, or anything???
I don't know what else to do. He can't work bc his job is in computers. And his life is being active in working out and stuff!
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!
