Hi All,
I have had a bad couple of days!! My left leg and knee is a mess. Went to the rhumy today and she put me on prednasone for six days. Don't really want to be on that stuff but guess I have to right now. She took me off the methohextrate for now. Why I forgot to ask. I can't take celebrex or any of those because of digestive problems. Oh Nuts!! I don't need this. I also need to stay off it and I hage that that because I love to walk with my guide dog. I guess now for a couple of days, however. One thing I do have a wonderful rhumy and I trust here. I go back next and we will see. I was doing pretty good and all with the remicade but we shall see. Sorry for the long post but I just feel like hitting something. I have the tens unit on it right now and lots of chair rest I guess. I love court show like Judge Judy so I will watch them and keep myself busy with reading or something. Thanks for reading this rambling post. Take care all and good night.

hi kodakpuppy well you will not believe this when i saw your name i had a little giggle my dog who is a shiztui and he is called kodak lol so i had to reply to you now your story in this post is just like me my left leg is the same as you and i took that many painkillers the other night i was violently sick and spewed them all back up if you read the ra under nannamc you will see how much our complaints are alike take care

Oh, how cool!! Kodak is a wonderful name for a dog. We have a lot of Kodak moments. What kind of dog do you have? My Kodak is a black lab. Thanks for the note. I don't feel so alone right now. Take care and God bless.

Hi Kodak Pup........Sorry to hear about your knee. I know I hate it when I can't walk my dogs. I feel guilty because they love to go more than anything. I hope your up and around soon dearie.

kodake Hi, I would like to first reply to the methotrexate some times a doctor will pull you off of meds you have been taken to give you body a break and to see just how much the med is help if at all.this is what my rheumy told me.I to can relate to the leg- knee problem I have a bad left knee that has got to be replaced and I have a left hip that needs to be resurfessed(sp)so i know how you feel and I know the pain that comes with it dosen't help matters any either.

mad   mad mad well this is IT folks...we are all, as we speak....altogether:  Up crapS CREEK WITH A TURD FOR A PADDLE. sad sad sad

 

my legs are literally useless too right now.  what gives is right????

yeah anne me as well tonight...i downed as much Prednisone as i could, maxed out on Tylenol & took 24mg of Dilaudid to try to break the acute jointpain. and now i'm up and can't sleep because of nausea!

 

Kodak...have you ever been on Prednisone before?

HI, Yes A long time ago for something else but not for the RA. Back in the seventies they thought you had to take pred after a cornia transplant. Not so now. I am doing better tonight and really appreciate all of your support. Can't sit here too long. As for walking the dog I know he won't forget how to be a guide dog but we both need to walk. My husband takes him for a doggie walk mostly everyday so he can sniff and just be a dog. He loves that. Take care and good night all.

Hi Friends well i am in heaven tonight NO PAIN i went to the GP this morning full of fighting spirit no scotch ethier lol told him get something done now!!! phone the ruemy now while i am here i want in today!!! he looked kinda shocked but when my scottish temper is up even though i have lived in aussie for 42yrs wow was i mad with the pain so he phones the ruemy and tells him i have a very very irate and in severe pain patient here can you please squeeze her in he said tell her to come right away well!!! now is that a surprise or not after the hellish week i have put in so upwe go my hubby daniel and I sent me for xrays on ankles feet and hands also blood test which by luck is right next door to his practice he then proceeds to have a long feel ( of my leg girls lol) and says hmmmmm i says yes and what does hmmmmm mean he says very swollen wil have to drain it well he proceeds to drain and i swear 2 ltrs came out maybe a wee bit exageraation there  but a lot of fluid and the relief i felt he gets the nurse to go and she comes back with this packet of tablets and he says now i want you to take these now so me think oh yea ok he shakes out 10 of these prendose or what ever they are called i says take 10 now????????? he says yes now i thought well here goes lass its either going to cure youor bl--dy kill you lol and i swear within the hour i could walk without limping daniel asked me to do a dance cheeky b-gger he is lol but i feel so good tonight just a slight headache i am on a course of the preds i take 6every day for week then 5 and hal the next week then 5 the next week then 4 and half the next week then 4 the next week right down untili am only taken a half of one the last week then i have more blood test and xrays so girls i was soooo glad he had a feel of my legs lol take care friends and big hugs to those not feeling the best

Hi All,
Thanks for your encouraging messages about the pred. I can bend my knee now and even went with a friend for a little shopping and lunch today. It was sunny and 75 here today and I love to get out when it is like that. I see the rhumy on Tuesday so will let you know.

Hi All,
Well, things are even better today.n It still hurs but the swelling is down a lot. I went for a short walk with Kodak and it felt good even though it was shorter than we usually go. I am surprised at how much just a little progress can make you feel better. I see the rhumy on Tuesday so we will see. Take care all and good night.
