welcome to Healing Well!
wow, so my prayers have been answered, we were just wishing for MORE MEN here! LOL...that is to add to the male perspective on things.
i am currently taking Voltaren {or Diclofenac whatever fits your fancy} right now.
pretty much have tried every NSAID & Cox2 with failure. Arthrotec {voltaren + misoprostal} was the BEST (besides steroids) at helping my RA pain...
had to stop it due to bleeding issues.
so Voltaren i've been on for about a month.
i take 50mg (3 or 4 per day) along with the slew of my other RA meds.
i don't know what o think about Voltaren yet.
i can't say tha it works to take away the pain...but i'm hoping that by taking it daily BEFORE major pain kicks in...it might work in a matter of prophylaxis?
i still have to use tylenol, prednisone, celebrex & morphine on top of the Voltaren...this i'm not too happy about.
in my opinion...i'd give it at least 2 months of daily therapy before making a switch to another med...Voltaren might take a little while to hit a peak level in the blood where it works more efficiently.
plaquenl + this nsaid is a good combo & one will help the other work better.
do give it a few weeks...ya might be surprisedin the difference a while can make with these meds.
so many meds for autoimmune diseases take quite some time for us to get any results, so waiting is the hard part.
best wishes to you!
