rheumatoid nodules

Do any of you have them? Where are they, and how long have you had RA?

I am developing a small lump on the top of my left hand - not sure if it's a nodule or more tendonitis. Will have it examined at my next appt.

I have little red bumps near my knuckles, ankles and elbows... I've had RA for about... 8 years I think. Only officially diagnosed for a couple of those though...

Hi I too have lumps on most of my fingers near the knuckles and the emergency dr said they were modules..I also have deformities especially on right hand. I have a Dr appt Thursday to get results of the blood tests

I have nodules on both of my hands. That's how RA started to show for me. I would get them on my knuckles and then they disappeared. One day they didn't. It took eight years for them to finally determine that I had RA. Remicade has stopped the progression of damage to my joints. I have five nodes that are permanent, but haven't developed any others.

iMarzz, I too have nodules in my fingers. My hands look like they belong to an alien. But they don't. They're mine, all mine. Not very pretty but whatchagonnado? I can still use them. I'm pretty awkward sometimes. But that only adds to the magic that is ME!

I have them as well I was diagnosed with RA about five years ago.I have them on my left hand and fingers are really bad.

I just noticed a skin colored bump on the side of my thumb (right by the joint). Just wondering how these nodules feel to touch. Anyone?

hi Pia!
those little suckers...docs used to like to smash em' with a Bible back in the day. {LOL}
some people who get them, they are pliable kinda'. some can move them a bit, they're firm but not rock hard....some scarring can make them very hard however.
what's your doc have to say about it?
one i had near my ankle joint felt like a frozen pea...it took a few years for it to go away.

Mine is actually hard to see unless you look at my thumb from the front. I thought it might be tough skin, but I have been at home sick for months now and I have done nothing that would cause my skin to thicken. It feels kinda hard and I can move it, but only a bit.

I've had joint pain on and off for years and my sacro area just started hurting, so I was reading all about AS, then the stupid lump shows up on my finger. I guess my body really wants to confuse me.

I have a rhuemy appointment at the end of the month... Guess I will have to put another thing on my list of questios...
