Hi everyone! I just found this forum a few days ago and have been reading alot. a little bit of background on me and a question.

I have endometriosis. In october I took 1 shot of lupron for the endo.

the lupron was suppose to be a 6 mth series of shots 1 a month. 2 days after my shot i awoke in excruitiating pain in my joints. long story short seen the rheumatologist 10/19 he suspected arthalgia and gave me lyrica had me work my way up to 200 mg daily, and mobic 15mg daily. Then on 11/29 i followed up with him and he did blood work because it was actually getting worse instead of better. his nurse called that next monday and told me my ana was positive, and that i had inflammatory arthritis. ive been researching it online and alot of pages say inflammatory arthritis and mention ra or lupus??? so i called the doc and asked the nurse if i had one of those and all she said was inflammatory arthritis take your meds and it should help. my next appt is not till 12/26 so i can discuss my bloodwork with the dr. they had nothing sooner! the meds arent helping with the pain at all. most days i spend the day on the couch with a heating pad. its not just one joint one day it will be wrist and fingers, elbows next it may be knees and ankles and then hips elbows knees etc you get the point.

My question is is inflammatory arthritis a lifelong disease? im only 28 yrs old and feel 98! and what meds have you all found to help?

hi niki, and welcome to hw!!!!! glad you posted but sorry you are not feeling well..... hopefully you will be feeling maybe 48? soon? lol ok sorry i am not the serious one on the threads.
as for your condition being a lifetime. i am not erin our expert, but i have RA and my understanding is through medications we can enter a painfree type of remission and have active lifestyles.
unfortunately we also may run into triggers like stress or illness or life that can bring on a painful flare. the most important thing is to right now get diagnosised and start a preventative course of treatment.
today many medications can hault the progression of this disease if treated properly.
i wish you much luck and hope you keep on chating with all of us hear, we are a fun group that many of us find such a great sense of support chating with other people who have the same questions and fears and understand the pain is real. so feel free to vent or join us on the maonin thread and jsut chat! or moan. take care and again welcome yally

Hi Niki,
Welcome to the forum, we're all here for you..sorry you're having such a rough road! It can be so frustrating to try and wait out all the tests, meds, etc..especially when you're in alot of pain. I see that you've used a heating pad...have you tried ice at all? Sometimes alternating the heat and ice can help a bit, or soaking in a nice warm bath can do wonders, too. If the pain is too bad, perhaps you could at least call the doc and tell them that the meds just aren't helping, Maybe they could give you something stronger to get you through until your appt.
Like Yally, I have RA, don't know alot about inflammatory arthritis, but I'm sure someone will come along who does.
In the meantime, hang in there, dear...and let us know how you're doing!

i cant do ice. i have a low tolerance to cold. not sure if its from my thyroid issues or endo or what. I got copies of my bloodwork today and was quite concerned as it said my ana was positive 1:320 homogeneous pattern then beside it said suggestive disease association high titers -SLE but the rheum says its inflammatory arthritis? everything i have read on inflammatory arth points to ra or lupus???

well, as you say you have inflammatory arthritis there are so many herbal treatment which give you quick relief in joint pain.
