Hi K, I'm brand new here and I've been looking through some of the threads and yours caught my eye. 18.... wow. Well, I can tell you I'm on Humira right now, was on it for about
3 months and then off for a couple months while the insurance people figured out what they were gonna do and then back on it tonite, actually. I opted not to do the pen shots because I was told those have more of a sting... you don't have the option of how fast or slow the medicine is injected. So I use syringes... but I hate 'em! Erin, btw, you cracked me up with your descript
ion of the syringes!!! Anyway, I don't inject the thighs, haven't tried it, I'm just scared to do that... not really sure why. I have quite the 'roll' these days in my belly section so that's where I do it. I find that if I take it out of the fridge about
10 minutes or so before, roll it around a bit to warm it up, and then just take it really slow and easy, it's not too bad. I often times have redness for a few days around the site, and it's kinda itchy... but, it's do-able. I don't know if this helps or not??? Also, I'm guessing your dr. doesn't want to put you on the prednisone because of your age and the side effects on bone density and all that? My first dr. did that to me... I was 31 when I was diagnosed. I'm now 35. But man.. if you can stay on a low dose of prednisone, it's awesome stuff!!! And painless! :)
