My contract is scheduled to end next month. I'm not sure it will. I have mixed feelings about that. It's a good job, good pay (we need badly), and I like it there (especially now that I have a good handle on everything.) So, I don't necessarily want it to end....but I really don' t know how much longer I can keep my head above water working full-time.  I'm a technical writer - so I just sit on my ever-growing rear end and work on a computer all day (thus why I'm not online as much in the evening - time, screen fatigue, and the fact my hands and digits hurt a lot now). But, it can be stressful and time consuming.

I'm doing a little better right now, this week was a lot less stressful, so I could relax a little and catch up at work. I also worked from home yesterday and today to help lessen the stress. If I could do that on a weekly basis 1 or 2 days a week, it might help keep me afloat.

Hello everybody welcome to downtown Apsley where the rain is wet the sun is hiding and there bear is back at work.  Although I have not been posting of the last few weeks I have been trying to keep up with what people have been writing but I have been having much difficulty typing which is meant I haven't been posting I haven't been ill as such it's just that my right hand is not behaving like a right hand should have the heaving like my left foot.  This is in fact the fourth attempt I've had this evening is trying to post I have managed to write to long once both of which disappeared without trace before I could even post them on the website.  I am now using Dragon hands free software and I'm still getting used to seeing what I speak magically appear on the page in written form however the software as you will see will often not put down what I actually said but what it thinks I said in which is offering nothing like the reality.

Now that we are approaching spring I hope the people are not suffering so badly with their arthritis and that the soon to be here warmer weather will make everybody much happier although I am aware that there is still much snow around in parts of the US and Canada.  It is in fact a long time since I have seen any snow of significance.

It is currently two o'clock in the morning and and I am watching cricket so there's a surprise a?  We were watching the ice hockey until I sent the boy to bed and switched over much to his disdain.
Going to sign off in a minute before I lose this thread and rejoin you all tomorrow.  Piece on Joan and remind me what you are doing as a volunteer with RSVP.  As you know I work for RSVP here in England as the development manager and will be very interested to hear what you do how long and who with that would make interesting reading for many of us piece on Joan.  I'll sign off on how comeback over the weekend and talk to you again later.  Stay well everybody

Yes I had a dose of the Enbrel yesterday in the Doctors office and the one I brought with me didn't work so we had to wait for another to warm to room temp.  That one didn't want to cooperate either but in the end finally worked and all I can say is OUCH!! Ebrel really burns! Today I feel puney and warm almost as if I have a temp.  However, I have an appointment on Monday with the rheum so will worry about it then.  No more plaq for me so I hope this does something for the energy leve because I am really dependant on the plaq since it seemed to help with it.  Time for the old MTX dose and I'm really scared that I won't have ANY immune system after taking that along with the Enbrel.  So I guess I will have to take it all and find out!  Anyway, I was hoping to jump out bed pain free and full of energy this morning but that wasn't the case..still hopeful this will happen at some point

Mooooooaaaaning everyone,

I have got a migrane from hell ! I think its from the MTX. Does anyone else get migranes from their MTX? Ive taken 2 vicoden and it hasnt even touched the pain I very rarely get headaches, i woke up with this today ack.

I think it just depends on the person as far as the Enbrel goes and like I said I'm a big baby when it comes to the shots and it took me a bit to get up the nerve to begin with!  It looks like I will be on a round of atibiotics since I have now have a UTI and now I'm off the plaquenil so I have a real decrease in energy.  There is just something about the plaq that helps with the fatigue and I really miss it!  I have come to the conclusion that it seems to be a merry go round of pain..shots and antibiotics or so it seems once the Enbrel begins.

The kids are doing fine but having some trouble getting used to the daylight savings time We all miss that extra hour!

Christina..of course you can join and its a place to vent, and just talk about RA or whatever is on your mind Welcome! Goodness knows I have vented more than once here!

things are ok here in strawberry land,I guess. Think I overdid it a little and am paying the price.  Feet and hands are really letting me know that they are NOT my friends at the moment...oh well..that is our lives, right? Made bunches of jam, the freeezer is stuffed...and also a few pies...it was so worth it!  I think there is something theraputic about fresh strawberry pie and shortcake..if there isn't, please don't tell me!My fingers are stained red..lol.

Oh Yally, we're all right there with you!  The land of denile is a place I visit regularly, my own mini-vacation destination haha.  I like to stay as long as possible!  Sometimes I really think we need to escape there once in a while. Like you said, doesn't take long for a reality check to come along and spoil the fun, but isn't it nice while it lasts?  Maybe it's all just a normal part of the process of having things like RA, that, like you said, will most likely affect us for the rest of our lives.  Afterall, once we have our little get-aways, we're more accepting of the need for treatments, meds, etc. I thought about this not long ago..a year ago I was scared of taking Celebrex long-term, then I was TERRIFIED at the thought of mtx (that's what brought me here).  Then along came plaquenil, and I was a little nervous, but ok, I'll take it.  NOW...it's like "doc, give me the enbrel...PLEASE).  Boy, pain has a way of changing our perspective, doesn't it? Sort of like "from housewife to pharmacuetical junkie in twelve short months.".  Oh well, it all stinks, but thank heavens the meds are out there to help us.

Very thankful fan of drug research here, too. The treatments for my son's diabetes has changed so drastically over the past 20 years...so many advances made possible by medical research..it's amazing when I think of how we did things when he was first diagnosed.

Mom, I so hope the enbrel kicks in for you quickly, the colleges are on spring break here this week, but the public schools are off starting March 30.  I sure wish the plaq helped me as much as it does you and sj.  Although, maybe the mtx was helping me more than we realized, and I need that again...who knows?

Christina..welcome to the group..we're a bit crazy...but these folks are the BEST...don't know what I would have ever done without them all.  How are you doing, by the way?
