Hi Everyone , My name is Kim  I am newly married and live in Georgia. I have been having severe pain in both my hips  and stifness. This happens the first thing in the morning and goes away as the morning goes on.  except if it is going to be cold or rain  I have the same pain and stifness. Is this arthritis or something else. I am 34 years old but I am 50 pounds overweight. I would appreciate any answers? I see an othropedic dr. on thursday. I hope everyone has a lpd.

Hi Kim,
I would recommed seeing a Rheumy doctor. They are best one to see if you have Arthritis or not.

Those symptoms could be arthritis but that isn't the only thing that could cause those symptoms. I agree see a Rhuemy they are the best.

I went to the Dr. yesterday and was told my hip pain and stiffness is arthritis. Im on a calcuim supplement everyday. I can  not take any antimmflammatories because I have a gastric ulcer.

Did her prescribe anything for your like a DMARD or biologic?

Plaquenil and Methotrexate are 2 different DMARDs (Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drugs) and some of the different biologics out there are Humira, Enbrel, Remicade, Arava... did he give you anything for the arthritis?
