So I am 24 years old and about 3 months ago I woke up with horrible back and leg pain. I mean when I would wake up it would feel like my ankles were broken, my boyfriend would have to help me out of bed and walk around. It would somewhat go away as the day progressed and returned in the evening. My back pain is in my shoulder area and going down the top of my spine. My leg pain is in my ankles, my knees (which also have fluid on them), and my heels. I went to the hospital and was told I have an inflammatory disease. Then I went to the Rheumatologist, she thought it might me Lyme's disease, so she put me on a months worth of antibotics and Naproxen. She also drew the IMMENSE amount of fluid of my knee. The blood tests came back negative for Lyme's and Rheumatoid factor but found a lot of inflammation in my body. The week after I saw her my knee blew up again, so I went back to the doctor and she drew the fluid out again and told me to stop taking the Naproxen and gave me Indocin which is a stronger anti-inflammatory (usually used for gout, she said). So its been a few weeks and both my knees are blown up but if I completely rest (I mean do nothing) for a few days it goes away. One day I forgot to take my meds in the morning and every where in my body started to ache (like when this started to happen first.) I just want to know if anybody went through all this? My doctor said its still possible to have RA or Lyme's even though the tests came back negative.
P.S. When I was about 8 years old I went through this. I had fluid on my knee, the lyme's test came back negative and was given antibotics just in case but at that time it went away, until now.
