Does anyone have Bursitis in the hip? I have fluid build up but don't want to have a cortsione shot.

I have not had it in my hips but have had it my shoulder and also did not want to take the shots! My rheumy gave me a round of the Medrol dose pack and that got rid of it..thank goodness.

I hope you feel better soon and I know it can be very very painful sad

I have had hip, shoulder, knee, and butt bursitis. You read that right - I had bursitis in my right buttock. None of my doctors have ever seen it. Depending on the severity of the bursitis and the amount of pain I am having, I get cortisone injections. I have many injections, including into the SI [sacroiliac] joint. That had to be done by a specialist using xray guided injections. I chose to get the injections to minimize my "downtime" and hopefully get back to my "normal" more quickly. Butt bursitis.. oh Ides.. :) I'm so sorry.. but that made me giggle.. you poor thing!
