Hi everyone,

Hope you are all well...and feeling a bit better...things have been the usual hectic pace here, and I know owe a few of you e-mails..please bear with me, I'll be catching up over the next couple of days.  The weekend was  a bit scary, my mom fell in the bathroom and had to go to the emergency in the middle of the night Saturday.  Thankfully, she is ok, had to have her forehead "super-glued" and her knee x-rayed, but other than that and some nasty looking bruises, she is alright.  I guess it was the rest of us that took it the worst!  All I could think of was how so very glad I was that she wasn't alone at her house anymore!  I thank God that she was with my sister, and that someone was within "yelling" distance. We spent the last couple of days pampering her, until she got sick of all the fussing and told us all to leave her be. Lol.   Gosh, I just don't like this time of my life...mom looks so small and frail..I get choked up just thinking about it, not ready for this stage her (or my) life.

On a lighter note, the paint is all bought, and next weekend, our family room shall be the color "peanut butter".  Best part is that I don't have to paint it!! One of the daycare parents offered to paint it for us for a ridiculously low price, and we jumped at the chance.  No offense intended here, but my family teases me that I paint  like Helen Keller.  They always tell me to buy twice as much paint as I need, and just start out by sticking both arms in the paint up to my elbows. and dumping the rest over my head.  I must confess that they are absolutely right, cuz that is exactly what I end up looking like.

Went to the rhuemy yesterday, and she was very happy with the improvement since starting enbrel.  Wants to leave everything as is, and I will see her in 6 weeks.  I told her that I had tried unsuccessfully to cut the Celebrex down to one a day, and she wants me to stay on 2.  Says it's too early for that yet,  that the enbrel needs more time before I should try to start cutting other things back.

Mom, about the back and kidney pain, can't say I have noticed that but I do find that come Sunday night, I have more of an ache in my hip...I don't know if it's the enbrel, or just that fact that my latest dose hasn't really kicked in yet. Or, is it just that I'm busier on the weekends?  Maybe it's one of those "chicken or the egg" questions.  But, seems like I remember you feeling similar when we first started the mtx????  Hope your presentation went well...been thinking of you!!   hey Yally, how did the party go??  What a menu you planned, girl!  Bet it was fantastic!!

Jody, I know what its like having your mom start to get a little older. Mine is getting to the point where we won't let her drive at night at all and we are starting to think she should not drivee at all-but how do you tell her that.
I am laughing my butt off at the image of you dripping paint from your hair-mainly becasue I resemble that remark.
I am glad the enbrel is working for you.
momto3 I am glad your presentation is behind you and it went well. Here is a chyrstall light toast to you-I am not allowed anything stronger or it would be champaign.
My rhuemy told me today that I was right she only told me to cut my prednisone during our last meeting because she wanted me to figure out for myself that I needed to be on mtx. Now I get to keep the pred as long as I want it.

The board is a bit slow or I talk too much!

I went to see the rheumy this afternoon and it went really well.  I told him that the Enbrel seems to wear off by Weds, and he says this is very common so I will finish out the shots that I have and then start taking two per week (25mg twice a week) and since I have had this cold, I have had horrible joint pain and I told him my pain level was a 9 today and he was very concerned and prescribed me darvacets 100/650, they are huge horse like pills.  I have taken lots of pain meds over the years for surgeries and have never taken pain pills this strong, I didn't think anything about it at the office and I couldn't read his chicken scratch otherwise I would have asked for something less.  I was hoping for some prednisone...but no such luck!!  Time to go and load the dishwasher while I can still function.

How is everybody else????

ol yallers back! teehee. sounds like everyone is busy and adjusting to meds. me i cant believe but sorry raven i have to complain about all the heat i have been in and cant wait for today as the high will only be in the high 60's i think....... been in high 80's for a week it followed me to boston and the air in our only 3 year old car failed!!!!!!!!! ugh so we were packed to the gils in a car for 9 hours 88 degrees and no air..... mind you this is not a B session just a go figure...... session. all in all my sweetheart is home for the summer and no longer a freshman away at college.

walked much of boston and even broke out the heels for dinner. i must have been crazy forgot how many stairs the city has near quincy sq. but hubby held onto my arm and we trucked our way to little italy for a great dinner and even better dessert!

now my family room looks like a dorm exploded in it and i have to do damage control and figure where all the junk is going to go? i think we have crammed everything possible into storage areas of our home..... but i am certain we will find a spot to make room ....... til later hugs to all yals

hi...had to go to urgent care on monday as my knee was getting worse.  the doc told me to elevate it and put ice on it as it looked puffy and probably had excess fluids on it.  so I have been hanging around and putting my foot up...pretty boring stuff

it is pretty out but i am suppose to do rice which means rest, ice compresses and elevate!  if it does not get better i might have to seek further treatment.

the tens unit has worked for the post shingles pain and i am happy about that.  they are going to let me use it for one year.  the doc thinks that the problem will have gone by then.

so long everybody and feel well but continue moaning!

I hope everyone is doing well since there are no new posts? Sj, are you feeling better and not so puny? Jody? I know some of us are having difficult times right now.

Not much going on here, some nice weather this week, in the 70's and final's week is now here so just a lot of stress!! Other than that I finally get to take the Enbrel tonight before bed and hopefully stop taking these crazy pain pills

Yes, I'm still here, just having a crummy couple of days.  Perhaps my love affair with enbrel is over with already, or else I'm in a nasty flare...who knows.   Only thing I know for sure is that I would really LOVE a new pair of feet and ankles!!  Took my shot on Friday like a good girl, but I sure wouldn't have know it.....rough, rough weekend. last night just kind of wanted to throw in the towel, but today's another day, maybe it will get better???   Daycare kids are passing a stomach virus so perhaps that is affecting me as well.  I got the flu in my feet? lol. On top of it we've had a weather front move in, so it's coming at me from all angles.

Kids are kind of wound up, so think I will try and get them outside for a bit to play. The next few days are supposed to be pretty nice, not too hot. We need to take advantage of it...the heat will be coming soon enough.

hey everyone just a quick howdie to ya all! hope all is well i read posts later been tired but other than that doing well. hope to post more later but wanted to send a hug your way with a smile!

We got home from the hospital last night.  He is so sick and so needy.  He is very scared too.  I will surely be interrupted in a minute or two.

He weighed 160 wirey pounds a mere month ago.  He now weighs 132.  The Home Health nurse just left.  She made me feel better and not so alone.  His pain meds make him unreasonable at times and he doesn't want me to sleep as he may need something.  It's been this way for two weeks.  I finally made him understand last night that if I don't sleep he has to go a nursing facility to recover because I won't be alive anymore. 

This has taken its toll on my health as well.  But I believe we are on the road and things will improve from here on out.

oh dear lord Boo...don't ask for help, demand it!  nows the time for family to crawl outa' the woodworks.

 

oh my my...this moanin' thread should would make a truly lovely novel, should be published.

 

i've been doing quite some readin' O' the posts here this week.  hands are doing well, but tire easy.

 

sooooo...long story short: been barfing since february (at least 3 episodes/week). saw my JZ this afternoon and he thinks i "may" have a HOT GALLBLADDER.

now, i know i'm quite the catch but this just takes it too far.

 

anywhoo...yally, where do all the gallbladders go??????????

 

ultrasound tomorrow.  no food by mouth. on antibiotics.

 

i think it'll be fine.

Oh Boo, I'm happy to hear from you, did your husband have surgery? I'm so sorry he is ill, may I ask what is wrong? and is he going to recover okay? and soon? You do need to take care of yourself, although it can difficult when we are expected to be in the caregiver role so often.

Erin..I have never heard of a hot gallbladder, will you need to have it removed? A few months ago, I had to take prometrium and while on it, after I would eat, mine really bothered me..hopefully yours is nothing serious.
