Mobic? Anyone else take it?

OK, went to the Rheumy today and he said to continue the MTX-6 a week- He is adding Mobic 15mg- said one a day for pain. He said swelling isn't too remarkable- they like that word-remarkable...- So, no changes in my disease that we can tell. At least it isn't worse! So, 9 months into this arthritis stuff. Anyway, back to the Mobic....What are your experiences with this? Will it help with the joint pain?

Hi there,

I still have Mobic here at home and I took it way back in the beginning and it worked for a short while, but then stopped..I went through every NSAID on the list! The just never really worked like they were supposed to. You should see my medicine cabinet, its ridiculous. Are you on Plaquenil? That was what really helped me with my joint pain. I think if your joint pain is minimal, something like Mobic is great, but if you have frequent of severe flares forget it! The only way to find out is to try it out for a bit and see if you like it.

Mobic.

Yeah. I took it for quite a while until it caused a flare in my ulcerative colitis. It was only of moderate help anyway and not worth the side effects. GP had prescribed it saying it was at least better than OTC nsaids.

Rheumy took me off of it at our initial consult and said it was not a good choice for me.

We're tinkering with Celebrex and using the big gun MTX injectable. I do feel better with this regime.
