Plaquenil success

How many take Plaquenil and use it succesfully for your pain. I am on twice a day 200mg.

I've been on it for almost 3 months, I seem to feel better but wonder if it something else I am taking.

Weaning off Prenisone 1 mg. a month. Hopefully the rheumy says it should work yeah I have Polymyalgia Rheumatica.

Plaquinel is wonderful for me. It does not directly treat pain instead it modulates your immune system which reduces inflamation which would then make things less painful. I find that the things plaq does best is reduce morning stiffness, daytime fatique and random fevers. I needed to add mtx in order to get rid of the rest of my joint inflamation and get off pred. I love plaq though and hope to stay on it for many years.

I love plaquenil and have attempted to stop taking it a time or two and I can tell you it really does work..for fatigue and pain! I do take Enbrel and MTX, but without the Plaquenil, my pain really comes back full force and I'm really super tired.  At my next appointment, I will have to give up one pill per day sad Hopefully I will be able to do it!  The only way to find out if it really works for you is to stop it for a few days and see..By day 4, I was calling for a re-fill even though I wasn't supposed to be taking it :-)
