Bone scan results-VERY SCARED

Hi guys, I had my full body bone scan this am. I noticed on the xray TONS of white spots on my hands, but not really the rest of my body.I am very very very scared, what does this mean? Do I have bone cancer? I wont hear back till later today

Dark "hot" spots on a bone scan are the areas that indicate a problem. From what I have read, white spots are areas of rapid bone growth or repair. Try to find something to do to distract yourself until they call. Stress is really bad for the body.

Thanks for feedback. When I saw all of the white spots I almost fell over. I cant stand the waiting part. Could white spots mean arthritis? I am so scared its mets to the hands!!! Thanks for taking me "off the ledge"

I know nothing about bone scans so can offer no advice but I wanted to let you know that I was thinking about you and hoping everything works out well for you. Do post to let us know as you get more information.

Thanks so much, that is very nice.

My dr called and said there is nothing major. Something on my knee from what he thinks is a fall and curved spine. He said there was nothing wrong with the hands. So I am back to the drawing board. My GI thinks the joint/body pain is due to possible Colitis?
