The diagnosis is in.... Not what I expected

I got the results from my bone scan back today. I was fully expecting an RA or AS diagnosis.  Well, turns out my joints and bones look absolutely beautiful.  No problems.....

The diagnosis is that I'm in a massive Fibromyalgia flare up.  What I thought was joint pain, is actually acute muscle pain that is surrounding each joint.  It's next to impossible to tell joint pain from acute muscle pain apart.

So this is good news actually.  I have nothing harmful or degenerating going on.  Just this stupid pain sensory disorder.  I've had fibromyalgia for over 7 years with no real issues.  Now it's a major issue. 

Thank you everyone for your advice, support and encouragement.  I do have arthritis in my neck and lower back which the fibro makes a lot worse.  So I might be here to get some future advice!

Thanks for the lovely post!  Actually, I do have start experimenting with pain medications.  I was prescribed Tramadol.  Took my first pill 3 hours ago and I feel so much better.  Relief from the pain for the first time in almost 8 months!

There is no treatment for Fibromyalgia. Isn't that horrible?  The gland in my brain that secretes the body's natural pain killers (seratonin) doesn't work properly.  So the result is widespread soft tissue pain, fatigue, and a wack of other symptoms that actually mimick lupus.  It's a gong show.

I won't be a stranger!  I do have existing arthritis in my neck and sacroiliiac area.  Fibro makes it worse, so I'll be checking in to get advice and say hello!

I'm not on Tramadol, but it's lesser sister - Tramacet.  It's shorter acting and not as addictive.  I take a benzodiazapine (tranquilizer) as an anti-seizure medication.  The two aren't mixing very well.... I'm WAY over sedated when I take my pills.  NOt sure what to do about this..... Can't quit the seizure med cold turkey.  I'd end up in a treatment center with massive withdrawl, LOL.  I have to talk to my doctor on Tuesday about all this.  It's not going to work for me if I can't function during the day or drive!  The Tramacet works brilliantly for the pain though. 

Patty, I also wonder what the heck is flaring now too.  All three of those mimick each other so much.  I'm doing my best to stay positive.  It's really hard.  The Fibro insomnia took hold of me last night.  Even after taking my pain med and the seizure med, I was over sedated and fell asleep, but couldn't stay asleep. I feel like a yetty this morning..... Stop the world, I want to get off, LOL!
