Hi,
I have OA in my spine. I know for certain I have it in my lumbar spine, as it's been diagnosed & I've already had surgery for spinal stenosis. I've also been having symptoms for a while now that might suggest something similar going on in my cervical spine, but i've not had that part thoroughly checked out. Though my Rheum has his findings down as spinal stenosis, lumbar spondylosis, cervical spondylosis, bilateral troncheric bursitis, sacroiliac arthritis, and fibromyalgia regarding any symptoms that are in any way back related. (However I also have Lupus, severe right ankle OA, and Dry Eye Syndrome, and Hip OA). I've always been told and have read that Lupus does not affect the spine, but sometimes I feel like I might have something else going on with my spine because I get so many body wide symptoms and not just joint pain. I also get nerve pains and paresthesias all over the place, amongst other things. Every other doc of mine, including my PT's, have asked am I sure I don't have RA. But I've had RA bloodtests and my Rheum says no. My Rheum DID suspect me of having Ankylosing Spondylitis, though but I guess the MRI's didn't really show evidence of that when I had them done.
Do you have spinal OA? Or are you suspected of having it?
