Momto3,Im not doing well im having high pain levels and not sleeping to well. Im glad the trazodone is working for you. I hope you have a LPD.

Hi Kara,

I'm so sorry to hear you are having so much pain, and the lack of sleep can only add to the pain and discomfort.  Maybe call your rheumy and see if he can prescribe something to help you through your flare?

Momto3, I have trazodone the dr prescribed me back in september along with my ambien and was wondering if I should try taking it ? I am wondering it will help me as it did you.

Hi Kara,

I would try the Trazadone, but NOT with the Ambien, don't take both at the same time.  I was told not to take Lunesta and Trazadone together, which I don't have any of the Lunesta anyway, but my doctor said it was a no-no. I'm sure it would be the same for Ambien.

Momto3,I dont have any ambien left and can't refill it til next week anyways. I am going out of town this weekend with my husband and need to get some sleep Im desperate. How much trazodone do you take? what is the milligram strength? I appreciate any help?

Kara,

I have 25mg tablets and I take 1/2 at bedtime.  I tried the full 25mg one night just to see how it would work and I felt really groggy the next morning! So I'm staying with 1/2 tablet.  Yes, of course you want to get some sleep, and I've been in the same boat! Try the Trazadone and see if it makes any difference. I finally just made the switch over to the Trazadone and no longer take the Lunesta.

Momto3,the ambien works better than the trazodone but at least I got some sleep.

Hi Kara,

I'm sorry to hear the Trazadone didn't work as well as your Ambien, how much did you take? and since you are out of your Ambien, can't your pharmacy fill your script? I tried the Ambien, and I woke up several times on it, and my husband said after I took it, I said strange things, but I didn't remember any of it! turn My MIL says it works well for her too, so it is all about finding what makes you sleep.

If the pharmacy can't help, maybe contact your rheumy since your script is not for a full month?

The pharmacy wont fill it yet .Because I had to fill it early because I was going out of town and would be out of ambien.I took 50 mg of trazodone last night. my hubby says I say strange things when Im on ambien too. But atleast with the trazodone I did get some sleep. I feel better today.
