B12 injections anyone?

I'm currently on the max dose of MTX and now due to low B12 will be starting injections tomorrow.  I'm wondering if anyone here has taken the shots and if so how long did it take you to start seeing improvement in any symptoms you were having due to low B12?

It took me about 2 months to see a difference. I have been on them for 2 yrs now. Susie

I was told they give you more engery...is that true? Is that what took 2 months to feel?

BTW, where do they give you the injection? Just curious b/c I used to see people coming out of my old rhuemy's office rubbing their necks all the time.

I( get B-12 every month since I have Pernisious Anemia.Having COPD I still don't have alot of energy,but I keep going......

Camama...I recieved mine in my arm...Maybe they have pain in their necks for another reason? I doubt it is from a B12 shot:)

I had gotten the impression they were either Gold or Methotrexate shots...but who knows.

Headaches....bad ones...ugh...

Ouch! I'm so thankful the nurse didn't give it to me there! I had worked myself up pretty well, and had looked up the B12's and found they can either be subq or im and was worried that I would have to bend over!  Although, the shot was itchy afterwards.

Camama..are you needing to have the B12 shot?

Hi, I am Debbie or also know as Miss Magnolia; I have been posting in Fibro but I have arthritis also.

My husband and daughter have me on B-12 vitamans and I can say I have felt better lately but I think it's because I just got 2 shots in my neck, 2 in my back and two in my wrist and my doctor increased my Lyrica to 300 mil a day.

He has also prescribed a number of other medication SULINDAC 200MG TABLETS, and after I read the side effects, I just couldn't take them. I am nearly 57 years old, I still work full time ( it is NOT easy!) and my only sister died of a massive heart attack at the age of 57 so I guess I am leary, and I also work in a law office and we have had class action law suits against a number of medications out on the market, although non of them were Sulindac, I still decided not to take it.

Hi Debbie,

You are given B12 shots in your neck, back and wrist? I guess I'm the only one so far who gets them in my arm.. I will have to ask the nurse about all of these other spots when I go in at the end of the month.  I'm glad the B12 is helping you:)

It was brought up a few times that I should get the shots due to health issues, but now the supplements appear to be enough for the moment.

I don't think I want shots all over my body, if that's how they work. That seems odd though - did you mean you got Cortisone shots, Debbie?

Camama..I think if you can get away with the regular supplements thats great.  I think Debbie must have meant some other type of shot, because when I went in my B12 was given in my upper arm and that was it, very simple.  I've read that some people give their own shots, etc but I think they are pretty straight forward:)
