liver issue with ultram?

My doctor found out that I have a significant amount of osteoarthritis on my right knee. I was prescribed Ultram for the pain. SO far it’s been helping me make each day ok. Somehow pain-free. Well, there’s still a little pain there but it’s better than without the med. Now, my question is am I at risk of getting a possible liver problem for this ultram? Don’t want to hurt my liver, you know. Thanks

Yes, you should definitely talk to your doctor about your liver concerns. My rheumy is very thorough and has me do labs, both blood and urine, every time I visit him, which is 2-4 times a month.

In my case, he is concerned about the Methotrexate having an effect on my liver, but so far my bloodwork has been fine. If you have any risk factors or will be on Ultram long term, you should probably have bloodwork done, but that's just my opinion. Definitely talk to your doctor about your concerns. Liver health is nothing to mess around with.
