is anyone dealing with costo and if so, what kind of doctor confirmed it? i want to go to a specialist because 3 primary care docs i have seen just say "oh it could be costo" but don't even do a physical examination! frustrating - they are only guessing!! doesn't make me feel very at ease. either that or GERD. which i don't think i have many symptoms of it but apparently sternum pain is a symptom. i have been having the pain alot when i wake up lately.
i have had this stupid thing off and on for about 6 months probably - usually after carrying my son or lifting him on the weekends alot if will come back. he is 3 and sometimes i have to (like in a store and he is misbehavig or when he is sleeping back into the house). so it's almost impossible to NEVER lift him. every morning when i leave for work he is sleeping. i wake him but he always wants to be carried. my doctor who is a woman even said she has grandchildren that are the same age and she does it too.
anyway, finally i called yesterday and said i have been taking mly GERD meds for a week now and it's not getting better. she called in some Mobick which is an anti-inflammatory i guess. that's it. said i should go to a GI doc. hmmm. just want to go to a doc that knows alot about costo. what test confirm it? any? nothing else has been ruled out. they think because i am young (40), not overweight, my blood pressure is good, i don't smoke, that i am fine. i have the pain under my left breast - to the right of my left breast by my sternum and my upper chest wall i guess which would be my 2nd and 3rd ribs. soooooo annoying!!! i just want it gone!
