Hi again,
I've been researching your condition on the Web and found many interesting medical articles. I just typed in reactive arthritis associated with Valley Fever in the search field and a lot of different cites popped up. Play around with it and I think you'll find some info. Valley Fever used to be called Reiter's Syndrome so you might find more information on that too. From what I read you and I have a lot in common. Psoriatic Arthritis is also an immune disease trigger by those of us with the predisposition to psoriasis. With my disease I've had a lot of problems with my eyes, common bouts of Iritis. I read that your disease can also affect your eyes. My joint problems started very suddenly about 15 years ago. I had one episode of pustular psoriasis on the bottoms of my feet and palms of my hands before that. It went away and thank God, I've had no further problems with the psoriasis on my skin. My Dad suffered terribly with it, so I guess I inherited his genes.
Evidently the Valley Fever infection can trigger the arthritis, just like Lymes Disease can. I have a friend that had Lyme's and she had eye problems, lung problems and also the arthritis.
I hope you'll find some interesting reading by searching as I did. Just remember, we're all different but we all share the same messed up immune systems. I hope yours is the something that will go away in time but if not, there are some great new medications out there. I'm on Humira and it's made such a difference in my quality of life. Also - my eye specialists thinks that's why I haven't had as many episodes of the Iritis in the past few years.
Let me know if you find some websites that answer some of your questions. If not, I'll try to jot down a few for you.
have a great day
Alicat
