Actually, remicade is made from mouse proteins, but enbrel is made from human proteins. Some people have had severe reactions to probably all of the tnf inhibitors, and I gather it's impossible to predict who, when, and where. I've heard of other cases that involved taking enbrel for many years before developing a sudden, yet severe, reaction to it. I do take enbrel--I've been on it for about 4-5 years with great results. However, I'm aware that there are dangers associated with these drugs and i'm careful to monitor and document any changes I might have.
I just responded to a post regarding carpal tunnel. Now that I think of it (triggered by this post), I've been experiencing a slight increase in tingling in hands and feet. The tnf inhibitors, including Enbrel, can also cause MS lesions, which would also cause tingling of the feet and hands. I may mention this to my doctor, especially if it gets worse.
