Ear pain + RA

Hi again.

I just read a post from Nana Monster that mentioned ear pain.

Does anyone else have ear pain that is related to their RA?  I've been having weird ear pain (full feeling) off and on this year and had wondered if it was somehow related to RA.  I'm seeing rheumatologist for the first time this week and will mention it to him but interested to know if other  people have issues with ear pain.

Sometimes it feels like someone is sticking a nail in my ear. The ENT guy told me that with the arthritis in the
ears the bones fuse together and you lose hearing ranges. Many times with a weather front the jaw will swell
pulling on the inside of the ear canal. Believe it or not, but I went in for voice loss and found this out. He was an
Ear, Nose and Throat specialist. Once in a while if you have a sinus infection it will also make your ear hurt so a
decongestant will help it.

Good luck with the Rhumey. Mine blew me off as I had a heart specialist. Since taking Co. Q-10 I'm off all heart meds
and she still wouldn't touch me. Definately ask about the Arthritis in the ear...sounds strange, but it's real.

Sometimes when the jawline swells it pulls on the bones inside the ear. With me I get it often even without the jaw
swelling. I have it in most of the facial features where the bones in my face will snap or pop. The worst I've personally
experienced is when the entire nasal cavities and roof of my mouth ground for nearly a day. It got so raw I couldn't
even drink coffee and had a hard time with water. It's only happened once and I hope it never happens again. I've
talked to some people with the RA of the ears and most have severe tinnitus (ringing or swishing noises in the ears).
With the RA of the ears, the bones fuse together and you lose hearing ranges. The doctor said sometimes surgery works
to loosen them in severe cases.
