Methotrexate pills and injectable- what's the difference?

So, is there a difference in sidee effects of pills vs. the injection? What makes a doctor prescibe pills over the injectable? I read somewhere that if the pills make you nauseous, you should try injectable because the nausea doesn't happen. Are the pills more expensive than the injection? I am already taking Plaquenil, and I have had several people tell me that Methotrexate really helped them. I am trying to decide if this is the next course of action. What has been your experience with the pills vs. the injectable?

I have used both at 25mg, the side effect profile with the sub-cut injection is a little more bearable, and there is a minor increase in potency. Injection merely avoids the unpleasant side effects caused by MTX ingestion.

Pills are the standard, with injection being a secondary option if the pills aren't tolerable. I don't know whether the injection is more expensive as all meds are £7.20 in England, but MTX in general is very cheap.

I stopped taking MTX three weeks ago, after 8 months injecting 25 mg, and 4 months taking 10*2.5mgs. So far, I've noticed no change in health whatsoever, I still even feel ill on the days I used to take MTX.
