Hello hope you are having a good weekend everyone.

just some advice has I've been on methotrexate since September and plaquenil since November and seen no improvement.
i am seeing my rheumy on the 8Th Feb and i have decided to come off mtx due to wanting a baby.
i know i need to be off it for 6 months before i conceive but is there anything else i can take til the time i can start trying? like a biological?

i will ask to stay on plaquenil and give it a bit longer to work and stay on the prednisolone steroids.

is there anyone that has had a baby with having arthritis?

Most of the time woman go into remission during pregnancy.

By the way you will have to stop the plaquenil.
Steroids are generally concidered safe to the fetus.

Hello, thank you sjkly for the article! I will recommend it to the friend of my collegue who has RA and her doctor told her that she can't have babies and she wants to be a mom so bad... I don't have kids by myself, don't plan yet but who knows....

oh thank you sjkly, sorry just t clarify do i need to stop the plaquenil before i become pregnant or when i find out that i am pregnant.

Before becoming pregnant. You can increase the prednisolone (with your docs approval of couse) if you start to flare or have problems.

You can not be on methotrexate whilst pregnant. It can cause harm to the unborn fetus. Many medications will actualy, so if I were you I'd make an appointment with your RA doctor and go over all your options and find the safest and best option for you.

Mods, this is from my personal experience, not my medical training. I am on methotrexate and got "well versed" on not to become preg to the extent of being told to use two methods of protection.
