Hello, I ws wondering if anyone is familiar with this medication? My Internal Medicine Dr. called this in for me to my pharmacy. Going to try it and see if it will help with the pain I'm experiencing. Since I can't get into the Rheumatologist till August. Appreciate any information that anyone can pass on to me.

I've been on it for two weeks. It doesn't kick in fully for two months though. I did experience some relief for the first week and a half, but been having some pain lately. :(
You must eat something and drink some milk with it to protect your stomach. Also to keep your levels even be sure to take every 12hrs. Don't take it too close together or you can overdose. Plus drink lots of water throughout the day. It's also recommended to take folic acid everyday. It helps build cells up. I take 800mg. Others say take more than this.
You might want a pain killer along with it until it kicks in. I take 15mg mobic.

It isn't a pain medication. It does take months to fully work and the prior poster is right about eatting before taking it to prevent stomach upset.

Having said all of that this is my FAVORITE medication. It gets rid of the day time fatigue, random fevers and gel phenomonon that I have without it. I needed mtx for the inflamation though and tramadol as an occassional pain reliever.

Yes...I took it until if affected my vision which is very rare!  However, you are supposed to get a baseline eye exam before starting Plaq! It worked so well for me when I was on it, and truly combats the fatigue of RA.
