I'm in a flair, we've had weather changes, for the most part the humidity levels...
I was off the Methotrexate due to it possible causing other problems, but got started back on it
at a low amount .2 cc injection (Today), just needed something as it was driving me nuts with
the swelling and pain, in my feet, hands, knee....I can feel it somewhat, which is weird most of y'all
can't tell it's helping, yet I can tell it's helping...I also wrote my doctor a letter and hope to start up
on the saline IV again (once a month, due to sjogren's dryness) and that maybe a steriod injection would
be needed... I do hate those but they help...I just want this flair to end, they sure are horrible I've been
bad now for the last week and then some...but then it affected me so bad today, that I just went
ahead and did an injection....and I just could'nt drive and had to reschedule my psychologists appointment too...
I hate this...
and to the moderator here, maybe we could do a once a month check in, to see how folks here
are doing...and maybe a cheer up posts...something positive....sure could use something positive...
Sure hope the doctor will read my letter on Monday...

i Know where you are comming from its a big circle pain depression pain,

you know when i was early diagnosed they kept offering me anti depressants i kept saying No

and the Docs would say RA and Depression go hand in hand let me know if you want them.

i huffed and said I Don't get Depressed, Well 20 odd years latter numerous Flares and unbelivable Pains

i Know what they ment even tho i am still refusing the Antidepressants Boy i have had times i have sat in a Corner and cried or rocked with my head in my hands Just So Tired or So Sore Wanting it to Stop.

Then after the Cycle has passed or steroid injection is working Life seems a Bit better then things get back to "my" normal

and i feel silly for being so down.

And Yes Good News Stories would be Good,and not those Fake ones the medical pamphlets have on them - oh since ive been on "blar blar" i can go skiing or i now sky dive ha ha sure you do all that dose is make me feel like a total Looser.

So sorry you are suffering. I find that I am having lots more aches and pains since the winter weather has started. Its hard to carry on with normal everyday activities (in my case work full time and help care for 3 small boys) when we are feeling so much pain. And, yes, the pain and dealing with it can sure cause some depression problems.

I would love to get things going on this forum. Its seems all our members are in the fibro or depression forums and its hard to draw them all back. I don't see the new members coming back either. I have tried to express our true desire to see them repost and to let them know that we care but still they do not return. I have not been moderator long enough to know all the older members either, so that is a problem. I sure could use some help.


Can I steal some of your ideas? Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm sorry you are flaring, Chartreux.  Can you take a burst of prednisone to help?  I am like you, I can tell MTX is helping. Hoping you get some relief, soon.

Maybe do something like stkitt does on the GERD forum? She has a running thread called "The Road of Life" where we just do check in on how we're doing.
I've been there everyday for nearly three years, dispite my GERD surgery was done over two years ago.

I pop in here sometimes because I thought my lupus was RA developing. I have pains like RA but no degenerations.

Big hug Char, its not easy when they change your meds around. I often say one of my biggest gripes is the waiting for meds to kick in phases we go through. Its like we can spend forever waiting for appts, for meds to work, for meds to clear from our systems, for tests, for results.... need I go on?
But I'm sending you all my positive healing vibes to get you over this low patch.
Rest and heat packs are about all I can offer.

Char, I hope the mtx kicks in soon. I know how you feel though. Sometimes I feel like I don't know if it is the depression or the disease. I feel that when my pain is low and the inflammation is down that I am in a decent mood. I can get really grumpy too when I am in pain!!!! Very moody!!! I hate that! And, to try and work through all of this is so hard!! Hang in there and let us know how you are feeling!

Thanks so very much, right now I'm taking things a day at a time....
I don't see my RA Doctor till mid March, but sure wish I could get in sooner...
I did send a letter...and the MTX is helping some...but still just not quite
there yet...
