A new mdiicine for the treatment of RA migght be coming out in August, it looks promising. It's a JAK inhibitor type of medicine, in pill form and you can google information on JAK inhibitors medicine. The major complaint is headache and neasea but I would be willing to try this medicine to see if itcan help. I found some info on this yesterday while reading a RA magazine. Lets hope the FDA approves this medicine, (sorry but this is USA info, maybe other countries already have this medicine). Just a heads up, well wihes to all.

I forgot the medicine is Tofacitinib, a mouthful ain't it, hopefully this will pave the way for more medicine to come out, for RA.

I've never heard of JAK inhibitors! My world how complex our immune systems are. Tofacitinib who comes up with these mouthfuls?
But I hope it comes though and gives us yet more choices for attacking our immune systems.
Have you tried the rituxin that MsOuchie is describing?

It looks like there are three different JAK inhibitors in trials for RA with really good results. It is great to have another weapon against this disease for those who are not getting great results with other treatments plus, it's not an injectable and the side effects look less than that of the Cox inhibitors and the biologics.
