It's SO nice to have a good rheumy visit for a change!

Went for my first follow up with the new rheumy on Monday. Did notice the swelling in my hands, even though it is very slight. Made the decision to work on switching me from the 10mg of prednisone to methotrexate. Got my baseline labs done today and just took my first dose. Been taking the folic acid for 2 days, so hoping I don't feel to bad tomorrow.

I also got an answer as far as a diagnosis....kind of. Rheumy thinks what I have is more "Sjogrens leading than RA at this point". So I guess I say I have Sjogrens and expect that I'll probably develop RA? Or I have both, but symptoms aren't defined enough at this point for my rheumy to say RA.

I'm also wondering if something I've been experiencing could be related to my health issues. Sometimes, I just don't feel like reading email replies. Don't have the energy, can't think clearly, don't want to deal with it. So sometimes it takes me a week or more to reply. This happen to anyone else? Most days it's all I can do to manage my symptoms, take care of work stuff and study for school.

Sounds like your visit went very well indeed! Sorry you have sjogren's, now please it's important that you get eye check ups as sjogrens can cause so much damage you can get scratched cornea's, so your eye doctor can start you on some very good eye drops. (I have sjogrens and it has effected my eye's) You can get otc eye drops such as Blink, GenTeal and Muro, those will help and biotene mouth wash helps at night.

and yes anytime you have an autoimmune can can wipe you out, but when you have more than 1 autoimmune it can just weight you down with fatigue, but hopefully the folic acid will start to counter that some. Maybe have your b-12 checked and vitamin D.
Some days I wish I had the energy like that energizer bunny....

After over 20 yrs of having this i Finally found a Good Rhumy and then he had Marrige issues and had to move i almost moved to where he went,but thought it could be seen as stalking lol

and Yes Some Days i Too can bearly find the energy to think let alone do anything , i'm sure if they shouted Fire i'd just Sit here .
