I was diagnosed with RA several years ago the specialist has tried so many medications to get it under control . One lot ended me in hospital in liver failure for a few weeks .but it's not too bad atm .the current issue is that it's causing problems with my tendons .
I have three high grade tears which I'm having surgery in may for . Now they have inflamed the tendons in my foot . I've been wearing a snow boot for two months with no improvement . The pain meds are only working if I use them with some other meds I have here .
With two lovely grandchildren to look after life has become such a pain.
The amount of medication just for the arthritis has mounted to 13 tablets each day not including the pain meds

Hello,
What types of meds are you on for you RA? Have you tryed any
of the TNF blocker drugs, Like Remicade, Humira, or Enbrel.

I'm so sorry that you deal with pain all the time. I hope your surgery is successful and that you can once again enjoy time caring for your grandchildren. Hugs.

If you do go on the TNF blockers, and they don't work, talk to your doctor about changing to a different one. I tried them all, with very little improvement...Remicade, Enbrel, Humira, and none seemed to help. I went on Cimzia, when I lost my insurance because they have a great patient assistance program. This one has helped me more than any of the others. I can tell when I'm getting close to the time for my injections, because I can feel the pain, swelling and stiffness increasing. Good luck. Its very hard not to get depressed, because everything seems to be so hard! You start to feel that the fates are against you!

This forum is the best on I've ever been on, even though I go for months sometimes and don't even check in. Most of us return here when the times get though, and we need the support of our "friends".
